The Barn by Denny Lynn

We have shared before that we have a very special barn. Daddy's Papa Turner built it for him when he was a little boy. We have been working on fixing it up and it is finally done!

We set it all up with our Western town and about a million horse. We have some cattle now, too. We figure every town needs a train station, so we added one. It is way fun to play "barn" whenever we can!

I'm a Big 3 Year Old! by John Lee

Getting older means growing and that means check up time! I love going to see "Mrs. Dr. La Fon." I got to have my big boy three year old check up. First they weigh you - I weigh 36.4 pounds, 5 pounds more than when I was two.
Then you get measured. I am now 3 feet 2 inches tall - I have grown 2 whole inches this year!
Next comes the waiting - I am not very good at this part, but I like to sit on the table.
Once Dr. La Fon comes, she checks me all out. She even let me have her stool.

The best part of growing is that I can finally see into the freezer to pick my own Popsicle! I got a grape one this time and it was awesome!
To celebrate I got to go to McDonald's, just me and Mama. I was pretty proud and felt pretty big!
I even got to play in the playhouse! It is exciting to get older and discover all the things I can do!

Happy Birthday, Etienne by Denny Lynn

Etienne is four! He had a fun Star Wars party at the bouncy place in the mall. We were extra excited to go and see everyone.

They banded us as we went in and then it was off to party!

We tried out everything!! John really liked the farm, but he would go to the Mickey Mouse one a lot, too.

Emerick got into jumping, too!
We went down the giant slide so many times we lost count!

After all the jumping and running, we took a rest!

Then it was time for food! We had yummy stuff, including pizza pretzels!
We worked off our lunch with a little air hockey.
Then it was cupcake time! Etienne blew out four candles.
And then we ate them - the cupcakes, not the candles!

Next came presents! We took him a dinosaur and a barn he can paint.

Uncle Rex and Aunt Lynette got him his own cowboy hat! He looked pretty sharp!
We had a great time with everyone and exploring our goody bags at home - we even got to play Darth Vader! I hope Etienne had as much fun as we did!

Building Stuff by John Lee

This month we have built some cool stuff! I even used some of the tools I got for my birthday! We went to Lowes for the mystery kit. It turned out to be a garage with a wooden car to park inside.
We concentrated really hard on putting it all together just right!

They came out great -  and really fun to play with!
Then we got to build at home, too! We put together our Tonka construction vehicles.

Denny even made a train. I did a dump truck and a backhoe. We really like building stuff - my favorite tool is a hammer!

I Can Read by Denny Lynn

I read my first book on my own! I only needed help with a couple of words. The book I like to ready is about Max the Cat. Ms. Patsy sent home some words for me to practice at home so that I can become and even better reader!
I have most of them down perfectly and I can read them all if I don't get into too much of a hurry. I really like being able to read on my own!

Happy Birthday, Mama by John Lee

Mama got another year older - this was fine with us because it involved cake!! I picked out a chocolate one with yellow trim. Denny and I helped put on the candles.

Daddy lit them and it was time to sing!
It was yummy stuff!

The best present was being all together for Mama's birthday, but just to be sure we got her jewelry, too! Happy Birthday, Mama!
