Leprechauns by Denny Lynn

We are always excited for St Patrick's Day. This year we got to put on our leprechaun garb to make a card. Mama even found us fun green mustaches - John didn't like the way it tickled his nose! We checked ourselves out in the mirror before pictures.

Then we had big fun taking silly photos!

In the end, we ended up with a pretty cute card! We hope you all had a Happy St Patrick's Day, too!!

I Pledge Allegiance by Denny Lynn

John and I have been learning the Pledge of Allegiance, we say it often and we are pretty good. Daddy got us a flag to put out at our house. I helped fix the bracket.
We get to put it out when it is not too windy and we love it!
We are proud to live in America.

Build and Grow at Home by John Lee

So for our last Build and Grow, they gave us the wrong kit. Mama was able to get the right kit to take home, so instead of going to Lowes, we built them in the dining room.
It was another Monster Truck. They came our pretty cool.

I like to build things and I am finally getting to were I can do most of it myself!
We love out kits from Lowes and the fun toys we make!

Cowboy Days by John Lee

We made a special Saturday outing last weekend. It was Cowboy Days in Las Cruces, so we headed out to the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum to watch the fun! We enjoyed learning about cattle and horses.
We also got to check out the sheep!

My favorite activity was rock gathering - I needed more for my collection. I keep my collection in my pockets - just check my jackets and pants!
Daddy's college kid group was making bracelets, so we stopped by there. Denny picked blue and orange.
I went with yellow and green - my favorites!
They had fun kid activities set up, including roping - which we loved!
Then we went through the Cowboy training camp. Mama's camera died, but I can tell you what we did - we started off coloring our horse and designing our own brand. Then we tossed bean bag biscuits into dutch ovens, made cowboy cuffs and mustaches, roped a cactus (like ring toss) - we got a stamp at each station to show we completed our training!

It was a fun family outing for us! I am ready for more Cowboy Days!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Tabby by Denny Lynn

Aunt Tabby has a February birthday, too! Uncle Shawn through her a surprise party and it worked out for us to go. We helped decorate and everything!

Our job was to bring flowers. John and I each picked out a bunch and Mama put them together.
We had the party a Thai restaurant. I am not sure what that is, but they had a cool fish tank!
Aunt Tabby was excited and I am really glad we got to be there!
Kelly made her a gym cake - it was really cool!
John and I helped lead Happy Birthday and blow out the candles!
Then we got to eat cake - which we had been waiting and waiting for! It was yummy!
Lots of family and friends came to make it a very special night!
I hope Aunt Tabby had a great birthday and I am so glad she is part of our family!!

Back to Build and Grow by John Lee

We missed the January Build and Grow, so we were very excited to go back! It was kind of odd - they got things confused, so we built the wrong project, but then they gave us the correct one to take home, so now we are one ahead! These are monster trucks, this one being the Monster Mutt! It was cool project and not too hard!

We were very happy with the finished product and we can't wait to build the other one!

A Birthday Fit For A King by Denny Lynn

Finally - it  is my turn to have a birthday! I have been waiting and waiting to have my knight party! This year I was even big enough to help with the cake. We bought a gingerbread castle and I put on blue sprinkles.
Then I helped add silver sprinkles and do the frosting for the "grass". We took a round chocolate cake then added brownie bites to make it look like a hillside with the castle on top.
Add a mote, a dragon and a knight and TADA - a very knightly cake! I especially like the shiny blue number 5 candle.
We had fun knight stuff for everyone to wear and Mama found this Mega Blok castle to be the present castle.
As friends and family came in they signed my scrapbook page. It had a copy of the invitation on it.
Once they picked out a knight helmet (gold or silver) they got to add their own plume, any color they wanted!
Then we put jewels on out knightly goblets!

After we were done with our crafts, it was time for games! My favorite part. I even asked for specific games this year. I wanted pin the tail on the donkey, but Mama convinced me that pin the tail on the dragon would be better - and it was! We had a three headed dragon and you could pick the color tail you wanted to put on.
After each game we got to pick from the prize castle! There were bubble swords, glow in the dark swords and knight rubber duckies, with a few dragons thrown in!
Next we played slay the dragon! We took our three headed, multi-tailed dragon and worked in pairs to knock him down! We used the cool swords Grandma and Grandpa made from wrapping paper roles, tin foil and duct tape.

The best part was hanging out with friends that I don't get to see all the time and celebrating with friends!
We also played knights and squires - the squires had to dress the knights using tin foil. Of course, everyone wanted to be a knight, so the grown ups ended up being squires, too!

Finally, it was time for the pinata! This was my other special request! Mama found this dragon one and got us a plastic sword to hit him with. Everyone got a turn, but we had to bring in the big guns with cousin Nathan to get it to break! Inside were little dragons, little knights and candy!
After all that - we needed to have cake to re-energize! Everyone sang Happy Birthday and I blew out my candle! Along with our brownies and cake, we had ice cream sandwich walls, grape canon balls in the catapult and pretzel swords! And of course, blue juice for our goblets!
Next came presents! I had so much fun seeing all the cool gifts and feeling so loved!

I told Grandma and Grandpa I wanted a doctor's kit and they came through! There is even a doctor's coat that says Dr. Turner and scrubs.
I got to take everyone's blood pressure and listen to their heart.
I had gifts for my friends, too! Shields and arm guards to complete their suits of armor and a knight stick puppet to color! Each family also got some blue soaps shaped like castles. Yes, soap, not candy!
Birthdays are very special and we celebrate not just getting older, but our whole family! It was a great day and I am very thankful to my family and friends for being a part of it!
