Just Hangin' Out by John Lee

Sittin' on the trampoline watching Loony Tunes with my best dog. Can life get any better?

Makin' Stuff by Denny Lynn

I like to stay busy, and I especially like to do projects! We have already started getting ready for this year's fair. I made a covered box with a horse theme to put my Horse Show ribbons in.

I spent a lot of time picking out just the right paper and stickers for my box.

Once it was all glued down I sealed it up with Modge Podge. I can't wait until I can put my ribbons in!
For my holiday doorstop I picked the 4th of July.
I covered my brick and patiently selected paper and stickers.

It all came together great with a final coat of glue!
My picture picture frame came out great, too! I picked out the pictures of my I like best and laid them all out.
Now I just need to find the perfect picture to go in the middle!
I was super excited to get to paint! I got a brontosaurus and a puppy dog like Baxter.

I used lots of colors on my dinosaur!
I made my doggy yellow like Baxter - he is a Christmas doggy, too!
Mama sprayed them with sealer and look how cool they are!
I made another box with Popsicle sticks. I decided I wanted this one for race cars.

I even put a race car on top for lifting the lid.
I ask Mama everyday to do another project! I can't wait to show off all my stuff at the fair!

Makin' Stuff by John Lee

Fair time is here! We start early getting everything and making our exhibits. I know how to prepare for a craft!
This year we started off with a decorated box - mine is Superman!

I like using the glue and the stickers!
Then we made doorstops - I wanted mine to be Halloween! I chose my stickers and cut my paper (with a little help from Mama).

Then I stuck it all on and used more glue to seal it  up.
I love the way it turned out!
My next project was a picture frame, framed with pictures! I painted it black...
...used some creativity to entertain myself while it dried....
and put on the pictures. Mama tried to help lay them out, but she did it all wrong and I had to fix them.
Then I sealed it up with the glue.
It looks pretty cool!
My favorite project was getting to paint! I made a yellow T-Rex and a Christmas Kitty just like my stuffed kitty, Mitzie.

I concentrated really hard and painted everything just right.

So proud of how they turned out!
Finally, I made a Popsicle stick box. Mama helped with the glue, but I put every stick in place so it would be just right.

When it was tall enough to hold a tractor, I put the lid on.
I added a tractor for a handle and it was done!
I have more things to make, but I am off to a great start! I can't wait until the fair!

Back to School Shopping by John Lee

The best shopping is at our house! Mama and Daddy got  us all ready for school! We got new backpacks - blue for Denny and yellow for me, of course!

And all kinds of new clothes! I got lots of shirts with dinosaurs on them!! And new yellow ones, too.

We are so excited for another year of school! We can't wait to wear all our new clothes and fill up our backpacks!!
