A 6 Year Old Check Up by Denny Lynn

Now that I am a big 6 year old, I have to get all checked out to make sure I am growing just right! It is always fun to visit our doctor's office. They love to see us coming!
I am 3 feet, 10 inches tall and counting! That is the 75 percentile for height.
I was pretty relaxed and ready for my check up!
I even got to put on a gown.
Then doc checked everything - eyes...
...ears...
and of course reflexes and strength.
She said everything looked great! Then she had me pee in a cup. This was problematic, because then John wanted to pee in a cup and he didn't need to. Anyway - I am growing everyday and doing great. Six will be the best age yet!

Happy Valentine's Day by Denny Lynn

We had a fun and eventful Valentine's Day! Mama made us these great shirts to wear (it is always hard to find boy shirts for Valentine's day.) Mine had Batman and John's was Superman (of course). They say "Have No Fear, Your Valentine is Here!"

I decided Baxter and Oscar could be my Valentine's!

We had Valentine's from Nana & Papa, Grandma & Grandpa, Granny Sharon and of course Mama & Daddy.

We had lots of fun! We hope eveyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Build a Bear Workshop by John Lee

For a special Valentine treat from Mama & Daddy, we got to go to Build a Bear Workshop and make a new friend. I have been waiting and waiting to go! I had already decided I wanted to make a bunny. I found just the right one - I almost changed my mind, but Mama reminded me that I wanted a bunny.
Denny picked a fun fuzzy doggy.
We had to wait in line with our animal to get him stuffed. They came around to put our name on the tag.
Once we made it to the front of the line, we picked out a heart for our animal.
We patted it to make it beat...
...rubbed it on our foreheads so our new friend would be smart like us...
...rubbed it on our muscles to make them strong...
...and made a special wish.
Then the hearts went in to make them alive.
The next step was stuffing - you just work the pedal until he is as squishy as you want him to be.
Just the right huggableness.
Denny wanted his dog to be a floppy puppy...
...and he is!
Next we got to pick out an outfit. Denny knew immediately he wanted the Batman outfit.

Batdog looked great!
They were out of Superman, so I had to do lots of shopping to make up my mind. I finally picked a firefighter outfit. The nice Build a Bear man helped me dress bunny.

Once they were all dressed up, we made their birth certificates. I named mine Baby Bunny. Denny's is Doggy Superhero by day and Bat-Dog by night. They each got their very own box to go home in.
Just outside the store was a cool mall train we couldn't wait to ride with our new friends.

We also took a ride on the escalator. (Going up was easy, coming down not so much). Luckily a nice grandma lady offered to hold Denny's hand going down so Mama could hold mine and we made it!
Then it was time to take our animals home! We even got special brushes to keep them clean and happy.

We are already planning our next trip to Build a Bear - we loved it that much!

A Valentine Party by John Lee

For Valentine's Day we got to have a pizza party at school! I was so excited to deliver all my Valentine's to my friends bags.
At lunch we said a special "I Love You" poem for our parents.
Then we said our prayer...
...and it was time for pizza!
We had lots of friends and family to celebrate with - I was glad Mama and Denny came to be with me.
My bag was full of treats from all my friends!
Before I left with Mama, Ms. Patsy let me feed the fish - that is one of my favorite things to do!
I showed Mama my heart man, but he stayed at school to hang on the wall.
I was super happy to take home all my treats!
And even happier when I got to check them all out!
I even shared some with Denny!
I really like my school and the fun things we get to do!
