My New Friend by John Lee

I am learning to entertain myself without being held all the time. This is good – since this morning, by the time Mama had me dressed Denny had taken off his shoes, socks and pants, so Mama had to redress him while I waited. I have made a special friend just my size – he is really cute! Mama gave me an old toy of Denny’s with a mirror on one side. It is nice to have someone to talk to when Denny is at Ms. Darcy’s.

One Week Old Today by John Lee

I am one week old today and doing great! I can tell Mama thinks I am the easy baby – Denny had lots of tummy trouble when he was little and couldn’t burp or poop like he needed to. I burp and poop like a champ and boy can I eat! I sleep more during the day then at night, but that is just to keep everyone on their toes! I weigh 8 pounds 5.5 ounces today, so I had my drop off but I am still going strong.
Everyone says I look like Denny - see what you think - here is one of Denny's baby pictures.

Yea for Snow by Denny Lynn

So we got more snow in Las Cruces and this time I got to play in it! Mama layered me up and let me go out with Daddy – we build a snowman just my size! We went out to our tree and found just the right arms. Mama found us a hat and bandana for him. We didn’t have buttons, or a carrot. Mama colored eyes on two juice lids and Daddy used the stem from a left over pumpkin for a nose. I tell the snowman bye-bye and night-night – I will miss him when he is gone!

Riding Solo by Denny Lynn

I have been riding for a long time, but now Daddy is letting me ride with a saddle. I can hold on and sit straight and no one even has to hold me. Daddy still leads the horse, but I am tall in the saddle all by myself!

A Big Boy Swing by John Lee

Note to self – Avoid Tire Swing!

A Big Boy Swing by Denny Lynn

Daddy found just the right branch and hung up my horse tire swing. I love it! I need help to get on, and for some reason no one trusts me not to bail off, so they hold me while I swing, but it is still pretty cool. I really want to push John on it, but Mama says he is too little. I will have him swinging before you know it.

Merry Christmas by John Lee

I am still not sure about Christmas – it seems a little crazy to me! There was stuff everywhere. I got some really cute clothes and new toys that I will be playing with before you know it. Santa brought me this cool car that honks and has its own key. I let Denny sit in it and try it out – we even sat in it together. Me and Denny got Daddy this special bronze called "Daddy's Ranch Hands" to mark the occasion. By next Christmas, I am going to be right in the middle of all that stuff just like my big brother. I got to meet my Ma and Pa as well – it was a special day!

Merry Christmas by Denny Lynn

WOW! Christmas is the coolest! I got so many wonderful things – from friends and family – even from my Oklahoma family! Santa brought me a VSmile Baby and I feel smarter already. Mama and Daddy got me a workbench with tools that really work! Grandma and Grandpa brought me my own peddle tractor – I can’t reach the peddles, but I like to push and be pushed with it. I have a Little People Parking Garage from Nana and Papa – not to mention new books, clothes and fun stuff. I can’t wait to see everyone and give them thank you hugs. It was a great Christmas!

Coming Home by John Lee

I got to come home with Mama and Daddy on Christmas Eve. That is when I got to meet my big brother, Denny. He smiles a lot – he is also a little wild. I hope I can keep up. I have my own room – even if it isn’t quite finished. It is all John Deere tractors with a cool barn bed that my Grandpa made and farm animals. For now I sleep in the bassinet in Mama’s room – well, sleep is a bit of an overstatement, but I am getting there. If I had realized home would be so cool, I would have come out sooner!

Being Born by John Lee

On December 23, 2009 Mama went to the doctor. Her blood pressure was up and she was really swollen with fluid, so the doctor said I had to come out. This was a bummer, as I was really happy in there! However, it did make it possible for me to be home for Christmas, so I guess it all worked out. They broke my warm and happy place (Mama’s water) at 4 pm. Then Daddy came – not too long after that Grandma and Grandpa showed up. I was born at 7:27 pm. I weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces and measured just under 20 inches. Being born is a lot of work, but it was worth it to get to meet all these people who love me.
