My New Train by Denny Lynn

Daddy had to go judge another horse show, so Mama had a special project for us. We used left over boxes and other stuff Mama had collected to build a Thomas Train.
She let me choose blue for Thomas or green for Percy and I chose blue. She got blue duck tape to make our train. My special job was to push the tape down so that it stuck really good.
We had an old car seat box and Mama had a big pretzel jug and bubble gum bucket. We had to buy some Pringles chips to make the funnel, but I didn’t mind eating the chips.
We would have finished sooner, but I liked playing with the tape and ended up leaving the blue and the black in the ball pit – it took a while to find it. I think it turned out pretty great – I even let John ride in it, too. He still needs a face and some yellow numbers, but I am proud of my Thomas!

Playing Cars by John Lee

I like to play cars with Bubba, even if he doesn’t like playing with me. He likes them lined up (like a train) and I like them everywhere! The more we play together the better we will get at it I am sure.

I Heart Hattie by John Lee

Ma and Pa came to town over the weekend and we went to see them at Uncle Rex’s.
I was glad to see everyone and play. I was really glad to see Hattie Dog. I wanted to love her. She was not as glad to see me, but I tried to win her over.

I played magnets and wondered what the big boys were up to and got lots of cuddles. It was a fun day with family!

Cousin Fun by Denny Lynn

We got to go over to Uncle Rex’s house on Saturday and visit Ma and Pa. Mason and Etienne were there, too. It was really fun! We ate a big BBQ lunch and played, played, played! We even got to race the slot cars on the big track.

I liked crashing best. It was really fun and we didn’t go a block before I was asleep on the way home. I love visits with my cousins!

My Bouncy Chair by John Lee

So I like my bouncy chair, but even more now that I know it is a multi-purpose tool! I can use it as a bridge to climb into Denny’s chair;
from there I can climb onto the coffee table (until Mama catches me).
The best thing to do with my chair is to relax and let Denny rock me! I knew a big brother would come in handy.

Cowboy Denny by Denny Lynn

Mama found my cowboy vest and it finally fit!
Once I saw it I had to have my hat, and of course I wanted John to have one, too. I do believe my rodeo event will be Baby Wrestling – trust me – if the baby doesn’t want to wear the hat, getting it on is a lot of work, but pretty cute when you finally get it!

When Daddy came home I even got to ride in my cowboy outfit.
I love my horses, and they love me! It was fun being with Daddy and taking care of the horses. I like being a real cowboy!

The Boys Club by Denny Lynn

Holly started pre-school this week, so she and Reese go in the mornings and we stay with Darcy. We are officially the Holly’s Playhouse Boys’ Club. Mama made us matching shirts and there was even one for Patrick and one for Eli.
I thought I would be sad when Holly went to school, but actually it is not so bad. She learns fun stuff all morning and then comes back and teaches it to me. Plus, I kind of like being in the Boys’ Club!

8 Months Old by John Lee

8 months? Really?
I guess it must be because Mama counted it on the calendar four times! I am into everything these days! I have great interest in Bubba’s tricycle – I can’t really push it yet, but I can push around the other walker toys.

I eat like a little horse – while Mama was gone this week Daddy started feeding baby food with meat in it – I love them! It was my first time away from Mama overnight, but Daddy took good care of me and Denny and everything was fine. The countdown has begun to month #9! It will be here before you know it!

Mommy Day! by Denny Lynn

On Saturday Daddy had to work a Horse Show, so me and John had a Mommy day. We went to see Matt at the Barber Shop because I had told Mama I needed a haircut. I was glad to see Matt and played while he was cutting someone else’s hair. When it was my turn I changed my mind. Teddy got a haircut first and that helped a little. Finally, with Mama holding me, I got my hair finished. I wanted Matt to come play trains with me, but he had to stay and work. Next Mama took me to Barnes and Nobel to play on the train table.

We were the only ones there! I got to play, play, play and I loved it. John even got to play some.
I liked it so much I told Mama I am going to ask Santa for my own train table.
I got a new Caillou movie and a train book as well. I picked out a new tractor book for John. Then it was time for lunch and we got to go to Chic-fil-a. It was really fun and yummy.
The counter girl gave John a special little cow because he was crying – he just wanted out of the stroller, but whatever works for a free cow!
I got the chicken nugget meal and it had a special cow for me, too – mine even had stickers.
I took it home and put it in my treasure box. We missed Daddy, but we had a really fun time and I can’t wait to do it again.

Boxing Day, Sort Of by Denny Lynn

Mr. Burcham gave Daddy these way cool cigar boxes for me and John. We have been waiting to have time to decorate them for treasures. Mama got us scrapbook paper and stickers to fix them up. Daddy wanted to spray paint them and put the stickers on - Mama thought it would be fun to use the paper. They look really cool, and I liked "painting" on the glue, but waiting for glue to dry is not a good activity for a 2 1/2 year old!

I do like my box - I think it is "boo-te-full". I picked out my own stickers and Mama helped me stick them on.
John had stickers for his box, too and he helped, some, but he is not big like me. His box was all John Deere and came out pretty neat, but I like my train box best.

It has Thomas and James on the front.
Percy and Gordon are on the inside.
I made very sure I used all my stickers! It was a fun project I am glad we got to do together!

Rain, Rain by John Lee

We have been getting lots of rain! It makes everything green and pretty outside. Unfortunately, it also makes it humid and brings out the mosquitos! I like the rain - especially when I am inside and dry!

For Me? By John Lee

I love getting presents and lately, I have had several nice surprises – starting with several really cute onesies with animals on them that the Madrons gave me. Then, Ms. Amy made me this great frame for my room – decorated John Deere – it has my name and birthday on it with a big green tractor.
I love it.
She made Denny one when he was a baby, too – with red bandana and horses to match his room. I really like all my gifts and appreciate everyone thinking of me!
