Potty Training by John Lee

So, I guess I am sort of potty training. I like to sit on the potty when the big kids go and I have managed to actually "go" in it a few times. Mostly, it is a comfy place to relax and read!

Yea for Firemen!! by Denny Lynn

We were at dinner the other night and a table full of fireman came in. I was very excited. I was a little worried about were they left their hats, but once I figured out they were real firemen, it was ok. I went over and told them "thank you for putting out the fires and keeping us safe" - they were really nice guys and let us smap a quick photo!

Cowboy Teddy by Denny Lynn

I have a sticker chart. For every night I sleep all night in my own bed I get a sticker. When a row is full, I get a surprise. My first surprise was for me and Teddy! Teddy got a new cowboy outfit - he even has his own hat!
I like for him to wear it - until he gets hot, then we take it off. Sometimes he just wears the neckerchief. I know that me and Teddy will have lots of fun cowboy adventures together! I think I will get him a miniature donkey to ride!

State 4-H Conference by John Lee

So, while Mama and Daddy have to work for the big 4-H Conference, Grandma comes to take care of me and Denny. We get to stay home all week and play, play, play!
Grandma had some shopping to do, so we went to the mall - they have these cool new rides! My personal favorite is, of course, the one with the dog!
Since they are still working on our house, Grandma took us to Carlsbad for part of the week. I used this time to catch up on my calls.
We helped Grandpa take care of Dude (the horse) and work in the garden.
We had an extra special adventure!! Ms Judy (who works with Grandpa) - let us ride in her cart pulled by a miniature donkey! His name in Julio and he is way cool!
Of course, we also spent some time with Ma and Pa. I love them, but sitting still for a picture is a lot to ask!
We had popcorn parties and went to church - it was all very busy. We missed Mama and Daddy, but we didn't want to go home! It is ok, I know we will go back to Grandma's soon!

Hangin' With the Leadership Team by Denny Lynn

Mama just finished being advisor to the State 4-H Officers. It is a pretty cool job to have. They all came in early for State 4-H Conference and in the evenings I got to tag along! We went to Ms. Linda's house and there were 4-H Olympics! It was so cool. I discovered the bubbles first and John kept himself busy by stealing all the lawn ornaments.
We got to have fun nametags, too. John had to wear his on his back so he couldn't take it off.
There were relay races, a hula hoop contest and even a watermelon eating contest! I wasn't really on a team, but I tried to keep up!
I was pretty messy after the watermelon, but so was everyone else!
John liked filling his water bottle with rocks and then dumping them out. Sometimes he misses out on all the fun!
After all the games, we got our medals. I am very proud of mine and so is John! I even put on a light show with my glow sticks. I went out on the grass with all the lights out and Ms. Linda turned up the music so I could dance - and I did - then I said "That's the end of the show" and it was!
The next night we went to Frank's house. I turned most of the team into my personal ponies! They are suckers for kids!
We had lots of fun playing and of course eating! I really had fun with Annie and Elise.
I always like to see the 4-H kids and spend time with Mama. It was a busy weekend, but I loved it - I think John liked it, too.

Happy 4th of July by John Lee

We had a very exciting 4th of July in Oklahoma! We helped Uncle Jeff and Emily host a cookout party. Emily is Uncle Jeff's favorite girl, and we like her, too.
Uncle Jeff even did the cooking on his grill - yummy hamburgers and brawts.
Granny Rose came and played with us. Here she is the doctor and Denny and Teddy are sick - they need bandaids.
Mama snapped a quick picture of all her boys before the excitement began!
Denny was really excited about the fireworks! Look at all that stuff!
I did some popperw with Uncle Jeff and I liked that pretty good. Honestly, I got bored with fireworks pretty fast and mostly just roamed around the yard. Maybe next year.
I did a few sparklers, but mostly I lefted that up to Denny and Aunt Judy. It was pretty fun. The best part was being with our family! I am ready to go back to the big OK and see everyone again!
Happy 4th of July!!

Happy Birthday, Jasper by Denny Lynn

It was very exciting to be in Oklahoma for Jasper's birthday! Me and John got to go to his Toy Story party!
Here is the birthday boy with his blue tongue from eating his birthday cake! It was a yummy Toy Story one and there was ice cream, too!
I got him a cool Toy Story backpack with a lunch box and John got him a Buzz Lightyear chair. I even signed the card myself (with a little help).
Jasper had a fun Buzz Lightyear shirt and everythign for the occasion.
We got lots of goodies - including big bouncy balloons - which we loved!! It was fun to celebrate with Jasper and I miss him already! Can't wait until next time.

Gone Fishin' by Denny Lynn

Uncle Shawn brought a Mickey Mouse fishing pole. From the day I got it, all I could talk about was going fishing! Daddy said we could go while we were in Oklahoma! Jasper and Randall asked the neighbors if we could borrow their pond to do some fishing. I had been practicing casting and reeling it in, so I was ready.
I even let John try it out. Daddy helped me and John so we could cast better - we had to be very careful because of the hook!
I liked fishing. It was hot, and we didn't catch anything, but that is ok, since fishing is hard work and it takes practice!
We had fish sticks for dinner in honor of my first fishing trip - I cried because I wanted to eat "real" fish, not "pretend" fish. Mama assured me that it was real fish, just not fish I caught. Anyway, they were pretty good with ketchup!

Oklahoma Fun by John Lee

It is Oklahoma Time! We never get to spend enough time with our Oklahoma family! It is a long drive and everyone is so busy, but we love them and try to make the most of it when we do get to go! We keep this big blue ball at Uncle Jeff's house to play with when we are there. I love it!
We like to head for the local park - it has a pond where we feed the ducks - this year there were lots of babies! I tried really hard to catch one, but my Mama had to run off the ducklings Mama, so my Mama made me quit!
Me and Daddy and Denny all played on the slide, but it was too hot to stay out long!
The best thing about going to Oklahoma is family. We had lots of fun getting to see everyone! Some are here, some you will see later in some special posts.
Papa...
Aunt Judy...
Uncle Jeff...
and of course, ice cream - we have to go to Braums several times while we are there - sometimes twice a day! I am a two fisted ice cream eater!
Denny prefers a cone.
We got a cool wiggly sprinkler to play with in Uncle Jeff's backyard. Denny liked it better than me, but it was a fun way to cool off.
We went to the big park and did lots of fun things - like monkey bars...
even a teeter totter!
Denny loved the big tube slide!
The most exciting part was when the train came by! We stopped everything to watch it!
Mama let us do bubbles in the bathtub - this made tub time way fun!
We also got to go to church with Nana and Papa. We saw Uncle Jeff carry the flag and lead the Pledge of Allegiance. I bumped my nose on the pew and got mad, so I ended up in the nursery with Nana and Denny. We made these fun hats!
It was such a great trip and I miss everyone already!
