School Thanksgiving by John Lee

Each year my school has a Thanksgiving celebration. We all bring things to share for lunch. Mama signed me up to bring cookies and chips. I picked pretzles and told Mama I wanted to take turkey cookies. We cheated a little, but we ended up with turkeys! We used sugar cookies and chocolate frosting. Then added candy corn for the feathers and beak with M&Ms for eyes.
I loved how they came out and I was super excited to take them to school!
I even let Denny help with some.

Finally is was party time!
We put on a program for all the parents, singing our Thanksgiving songs in English and Spanish. I didn't sing, but I made the turkey sounds.
Then it was on to lunch!
I got to sit with some of my favorite friends and my Mama!
Ms. Patsy passed out my cookies to be sure all my friends got one.
I wanted one with yellow eyes. It was YUMMY!
I showed Mama the thankful turkey I made. I was sad because Mama had to leave and go back to work.
But, naptime was next, so it worked out ok. We had tons of fun celebrating with my school. Nothing like a good party to get you ready for the holidays!

Thanksgiving Treats by Denny Lynn

It is always hard to come up with treats for Thanksgiving, but John and I do our best! This year we made turkey suckers for our friends. I helped cut out the tags and the turkey parts.

John was an expert at gathering the suckers!
We used glue dots to attach a head and tail to each sucker.

They made pretty cool turkeys!
Then I punched holes in the tags and put them on the suckers.
They came out really cute and I am sure our friends enjoyed them!

School Thanksgiving by Denny Lynn

Mama and Daddy got to come to my school to celebrate an early Thanksgiving. We started off in my class where I read them a book.
I also showed them the bracelet I made that tells the Thanksgiving story. I have book I made to go with it, too.
I got to wear my pilgrim hat to lunch.

My whole class was decked out and ready after spending all week making decorations.
I was glad to have Mama and Daddy with me!
I put in my lunch number to pay for my lunch.
Then I showed Mama and Daddy how to get their lunch. We had turkey and even pumpkin pie! The best part was being together with friends and family! Happy Thanksgiving!

School Book Fair by Denny Lynn

We had a book fair at school. Mama came to help and she got to see my class at library time. We watched a movie about the first Thanksgiving.
After school I came back to shop with Mama. I bought birthday presents for John and some Christmas gifts for friends. I picked out a cool Lego book for myself. The book fair was really cool!

Tomatoes, by John Lee

I was really excited to pick tonatoes with Grandpa and take some home! I even took bites out of several of them on the way home!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa by Denny Lynn

While we were in Carlsbad for Ma's birthday, we got to celebrate with Grandpa, too! We sang to him and took him a birthday present.

I even gave him the cross windchime I made for the fair to hang up at his house. Birthdays are pretty special and it is so nice to be able to celebrate with people we love!

Happy Birthday, Ma by John Lee

Ma is 80!  I got to go with Mama and help set up while Daddy and Denny did soccer. We had an owl theme and I helped Mama make owl cupcakes.

All the decorations came out great! We had found some neat owl stuff use.

We even had a children's table where we could color and make owl ornaments. Mason helped me make one.
Then I made one for Aunt Tabitha.
Everyone signed in...
...and then signed a big card for Ma.
I liked seeing everyone, mostly I hung out with Grandpa.
Denny played with all the cousins and had lots of fun!

Everyone lined up to sing Happy Birthday andlet Ma blow out her candles!
I am glad we were able to be there and show Ma how much we love her!
