The Pumpkin Patch by John Lee

I love pumpkins! I have decided they are the best thing about fall and Halloween, so I was very excited to go to the Pumpkin Patch on Sunday. I tried out the water pump...
...and drove the tractor.
I tried to pick up the BIG pumpkin and was very disappointed that I could not carry it home.
The scarecrow measured me and found out I am three feet tall.
Then it was time for the hayride to the pumpkin patch!
I was thrilled to find a yellow pumpkin! Yellow is my very favorite...
...and it was just my size. The woman at the counter called it a spaghetti squash, but Mama explained that it was a yellow pumpkin.
Denny and I checked out all kinds of cool things that grow in the pumpkin patch.
I tried out the trike track, but it was a long way around - I made it more than halfway.
I got to go on the big slide with Mama and I loved it! I would have gone again and again!
I was a little scared of the rolling tubes, but I was brave and tried it out with Denny - for a minute.
Then it was time for lunch at the BBQ place! Bread and chicken and french fries! What a great family day!

The Pumpkin Patch by Denny Lynn

I have been begging to go to the Pumpkin Patch since last year! We drive by it going to the fair and to church, so I am not liable to forget! Finally, I got my wish! Sunday was the last day for the Pumpkin Patch, so off we went after church!
There were all kinds of fun things to do - even pumping water!
I especially like the trike track. I picked a blue trike every time!
We checked out the BIG pumpkins...
...and found out how tall we are - 3 1/2 feet, thank you very much!
Then I learned how a pumpkin grows - John didn't care.
We got to take a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and pick our own pumpkin! I found a really nice round one that I could carry myself.
There were lots of big ones around, too, but we didn't need to carry one of those around.
The wagon took us back to the counter to check out and we paid for my pumpkin so I could take it home for my very own!
We tried out all the fun things to climb on...
...and slide down. I even did the tunnel slide all by myself!
Then we rolled the big tubes. I was good at it and could go really fast!
Daddy helped me go even faster.
I wanted to stay at the Pumpkin patch forever, but we had to leave sometime. We celebrated our outing with a trip to the BBQ place for lunch. What a great family day!!

Halloween Rewind - A Note from Mama

I love Halloween - I want it to be a fun experience for the boys each year. As we worked on Halloween stuff for this year, I went back through our Halloweens past. It was fun to see how the boys are growing and changing, although, as many of you know, it is going entirely too fast to keep up! For Denny's first Halloween I made a Halloween card to send out themed around his costume. That has become a tradition, so I thought I would share/remind everyone how much our little guys have grown.
In 2008, Denny was 8 months old and went as Charlie Brown.
In 2009, Denny was not quite two and we stole this idea from Ms Tammy and Colton! Denny went as a rodeo clown.
And then there were two...Now John was in the act. In 2010, Denny was 2 1/2 and went as Gilligan. John was 10 months and got to be the Skipper.
In 2011, I bought a lime green t-shirt in April, anticipating that Denny would want to be Shaggy from Scooby Doo. John was Fred.
And finally, 2012 brought the inspiration from Jason - we have jockeys, but not just any jockeys, Denny is Ronnie Turncott riding Secretariat and John is Lafitte ridding Sham.
Dressing up is such a huge part of who they are and how they grow!

Build and Grow Creepy Keeper by John Lee

Off to Lowes to build a monster box! I am getting really good at building and this time I actually stayed until my whole project was done before I tried to take off. I must be growing up!
We made a creeper keeper - I call it a monster box - It was pretty tricky to follow the instructions, but we figured it out.
I was very excited to get my box done and couldn't wait to "feed" him something!
When lots of people started coming, we decided to take out boxes home and let Daddy help us finish off the stickers.
My box has a face on the front and the back! When things go missing, Mama had better check my monster box!

Build and Grow Creepy Keeper by Denny Lynn

Time for another Build and Grow! This time it was a monster box! I had to get another apron and new goggles because Mama forgot mine again.
This project had lots of pieces to work with.
The trick is to lay them all out and follow the instructions!
We got our boxes together, but it was so crowded that we took them home to finish the stickers, that way Daddy could help too!
I put an extra face on the back of my bow - complete with boogers!
And another one on the inside! It is just the right size to store my goggles! I love to build things and I am so glad Lowes lets us make fun projects for free!

Mom's Trip by John Lee

Mama had to go on a trip for work. She went all the way to Florida. She met Mickey Mouse and saw real knights joust. Someday she is going to take us back to do all that fun stuff. We missed Mama and were glad when she came home. She brought us all kinds of treats!
We each got a new bank - mine was Mickey and his friends and Denny's was Toy Story. Thanks to Miss Kathy hating change, we had lots of coins to put in our banks!

We got crowns and knight cups from Medievil Times. We also got cowboy Mickey shirts!
I had to put mine on immediately! Of course, my favorite thing was a hamburger eraser that mom got for free at the conference! We were thankful for all our fun stuff, but mostly thankful to have Mama home!

Treats from Nana & Papa by Denny and John

We love surprises!! We got a special box of Halloween goodies from Nana and Papa!
We each got our own house filled with candy and a new movie.
There was also a special Halloween card for each of  us with our names on them.
John was very excited to have candy to put in his pumpkin -
and Denny just wanted to eat Skittles.
It was really fun to get a special surprise. We love Nana and Papa and can't wait to go and visit them soon!
