April 4-H Meeting by Denny Lynn

For the April 4-H Meeting we didn't have much business and no Teach and Tells. This was ok, because we had a really fun project!
We made recipe boxes. We used crepe paper and decoupage glue to decorate our boxes.

We got to choose how we shaped our paper to make a pattern or solid colors.

Everyone worked really hard and they came out great!

Then it was snack time. I like to help pass things out!
I am always excited to have a 4-H meeting! I can' wait to see what we do next!

A Carlsbad Horse Show by Denny Lynn

It has been awhile since we made it to a horse show. It takes time to practice - for the horse and for me!

We got to go to a horse show in Carlsbad - this was exciting, because I got to show and Grandma and Grandpa got to watch! I did showmanship first.
They let us leave our hats off since the wind was blowing.
Dunny and I took 1st place!
I also did Walk Trot Horsemanship and Walk Trot Western Pleasure.

I took 1st in everything! They didn't have a trail class for me, but I practiced on some of their stuff. Dunny was a little afraid of this gate!

I love doing the horse shows. After all my classes, I like to just ride around and see the other contestants.
I was the high point winner in my age group and got a big ribbon and a bucket full of goodies!
It was a fun day! I feel so blessed to have family time and get to do something I truly enjoy!

My First Horse Show by John Lee

I want my own horse. I can't get one until I decide if I really want a horse to show. I have been practicing with Dunny and Dolly to learn how to show.

When we went to Carlsbad, I got to be in a show! I helped get Dunny ready so I could borrow him for my class.

My class is Lead Line - that means that Daddy can lead the horse while I ride.
At first, I wasn't sure I liked it.
I finally decided to try harder and I even talked to the  judge.

I got a 4th place ribbon, plus prizes! Bubbles and M&M's!

I decided showing isn't so bad! I think I will try it again.

Ag Day 2015 by Denny Lynn

Ag Day is a special day at my school to learn all kinds of new things about what our farmers and ranchers do. I like to get dressed up special! Mama usually comes to help, too.
Mr. Robert brought pecan equipment for us to look at - we even got to get in it!
We also get to go on a hayride!

I found the grasshoppers especially fascinating.
We learned about chickens and even got to pet one!

Then we learned about electricity and how to keep our homes safe!

Mr. Lightfoot taught us about dairy cows and where our milk comes from!
The FFA kids taught us about wildlife.
J and Ms. Darcy taught us how things grow and we got to dissect a bean!

Our treat at the end of the day was a cool Popsicle!
And then dance time - I would only do the chicken dance. The girls kept trying to get me to dance with them, but I wouldn't go!
I finally ran into Tanner - he didn't want to dance either!
Ag Day is super fun and I am so glad I get to be a part of it!
