Halloween Treats by John Lee

It is treat time! This year we used one of my personal favorites - donuts! We made them into monsters with vampire teeth and candy eyes. I used white teeth to make them for my friends at school.

Denny used colored teeth to make them for his class.

The tags say 'Do-NUT' forget to have a 'FANG'tastic Halloween and have our pictures on them.

We even made some from both of us to share with special friends. They came out pretty spooky - and I must say yummy - I eat one everyday!

A Cracker Barrel Date with Mom by John Lee

We had an early dismissal day from school. Mama picked me up and she let me pick wherever I wanted to eat. I chose Cracker Barrel! I already knew I wanted pancakes. I was pretty glad to have a special day just me and Mom. We drew glasses on the kids in the menu.
And played the peg game.
I got two big pancakes and added my own syrup.
It was all super yummy!
Before we left we stopped off for some checkers. It was fun and now I wanted to go home early everyday so I can have pancakes! And hang out with Mama, too I guess.

Happy Birthday, Daddy by John Lee

Daddy will be gone on his birthday, so we celebrated early with cupcakes and pumpkin ice cream! We put on candles and lit them up!
We even helped Daddy blow the candles out after we sang "Happy Birthday".
It was all very yummy - we like any excuse for cake, but what better one than celebrating Daddy!
I got him a new cell phone cover with John Wayne on it. I picked it out myself at the store.
Denny gave him a coffee mug with his school picture on it.
I will miss Daddy on his birthday, but I am so glad we got to celebrate before he left. I hope it is a very Happy Birthday!!

Church Harvest Festival by John Lee

Our first Halloween  event was a fall festival at our church. We got to wear our costumes - Never fear, Batman and Superman are here!

We got ready and headed to the church.
Mama and Ms.Denise were in charge of the snack mix booth. We helped get it all set up.
Abby came as a ladybug - she was so cute! I love Abby.
We had lots of cool games to play, including a fishing game.

And a feed the monster bean bag toss.
Of course, we got to make our snack mix. Mine had lots of M&M's in it.
They even had a decorate your own cupcake table.
Mine had lots of sprinkles.
They also took our picture and let us make a fun owl frame to take it home.
Our favorite was using the Nerf multi-shot gun to knock down a cup tower. When we weren't shooting we helped retrieve bullets.
It was a fun night and we appreciate all the people that gave their time to make it happen!

I Am Batman by Denny Lynn

I am super excited about my Halloween costume. I know there will be lots of kids dressed as Batman, but they will be the black Batman, whereas I am the blue Batman, or as I like to say, the real Batman.
I tried it on early and had a little photo shoot with Mama. It is pretty cool it I do say so myself.

The 4-H Meeting by Denny Lynn

This month we had another successful 4-H meeting. We even conducted business and voted to do a service project. The clover seeds kept themselves entertained, too!
We learned about leathercraft and got to make a coaster.
Holly helped me finish mine and now we are leathercraft experts!
We cutout hand prints for a thank you project and made picture frames for the scrapbooking project.

John tried out the leather table, too. We all also decorated cupcakes, but Mama was busy and didn't get a picture. It was really fun - I look forward to learning new stuff every month!

Pumpkin Time by Denny Lynn

John and I each got a pumpkin at the fair, then Mama and I each got a pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch on my field trip. Mama also bought some from a fundraiser. We have pumpkins everywhere! Decorating them is the best part. We got to carve one. I picked the biggest one to carve. We drew on the face and them cut the top off.
Mama made me and John clean it out. It was kind of slimy and it took lots of scraping.
and more scraping...
Mama let me help carve out some of the pieces.

And then more scraping....
We finally called it good and put him out on the porch with candles in him for a spooky glow. He came out great and has lasted pretty good.
With all these pumpkins we had a lot of choices to make for decorations, including some new ones. Mama got me a Hulk set to decorate one - I followed the instructions to make sure it was just right.

He looks pretty tough!
Then I made a puppy...

...and finally a pirate. I made the pirate all by myself, even poking the holes.

The porch looks great and colorful with all these cool pumpkins. We are ready for Halloween and a happy fall!
