Buildin' and Growin' Art Station by Denny Lynn

By now you know we love Build and Grow at Lowes. This week we made art stations with chalhboards. It is always important to read your instructions and lay out your parts.
Then the hammering begins! I am getting really good at putting things together!
John is learning, too. He hits the nail almost every time and hasn't hit Mama with the hammer in the last three trips.
We are always so proud of what we make! It is fun to take our projects home and show them off!!

Happy St Patty's Day! By Denny Lynn

I was finally time to celebrate St Patrick's Day! I have been waiting and waiting! John and I got all gussied up in our Leprechaun shirts and hats.
Grandma send us these fun glasses to complete our outfits!

When it was party time we got busy making Leprechaun traps! I really hope I catch one! John used part of an egg carton for his.
He really thought it was fun - especially when he got to eat Cheerios like CJ.
I made mine from a little shoe box. I tied a bell on the top so I can hear when the Leprechaun gets in. Then I ran the strings through each side of the box so that when you pull them the lid slams shut! It works great. I am gonna catch that Leprechaun and get his gold!

We played really fun games - here Holly and I our doing a Leprechuan dance.
I am a really good dancer.
I am also a fast runner! I liked being it when we played Leprechaun tag.
Then we played throw the hat on the Leprechaun! Eli was my Leprechaun.
John liked wearing the hat, but he didn't want to play.
Then we worked as a team to cross the clover trail over the yard. Don't step off the clovers and don't let go of your friends!
John passed out his paint treats with gold nugget candy.
I gave everyone my Leprechaun cookies! I think they liked them! It was a pretty fun party. I can't wait unil the next holiday!

Feeding the Kids by Denny Lynn

For a mission project at church, we made food backpacks for the kids who might not have enough to eat over spring break. I picked out several things to go into the packs, including Scooby Doo fruit snacks. It worries me that some kids don't have them. I was very excited to help pack the bags.
I made sure they got lots of good stuff! I hope they like everything and that nobody is hungry over the break. I am learning that it is important to help the people who need it!

Rainbow Wishes by John Lee

First you take a Leprechaun picture so Mama can do some stuff on the computer. Pretty cute if I do say so myself!
Then you put the watercolor paints (the rainbow) and some chocolate nuggets (the gold) into the cellophane bag. I did it, but all I really wanted to do was paint and eat chocolate!
Once Mama finishes the bag toppers, we staple them on. I am all about quality control, so I examine each one carefully.
And that is how you make St Patty's Day goodies for all your friends! The labels say:
May you have Rainbow Wishes and Golden Dreams on this St Patrick's Day

Leprechaun Cookies by Denny Lynn

Saint Patrick's Day is a fun day for us. We get to have a party and this year, we made treats to take along. I made Leprechaun Cookies! We took the M&M cookies and used only green M&Ms, then we added white chocolate chips. Of course, we made the dough green, too. I made them myself, measuring and mixing!
John tried to help.
I was really good at scooping them out onto the pan for baking!
We took a Leprechaun picture to go on my labels, then Mama made them up on the computer.
We used scrapbook paper to make fun closures for the bags.
Then we put on the labels and stapled them to our bags. The poem says:
I know that you know,
But just so you've been told
I'll share these cookies,
But I won't share my gold!
I worked very hard to memorize it! I hope my friends like my cookies - I shared some with Daddy and he liked them!
We made enough for everyone and I was so proud of them!

Nothin' Like Dirt by John Lee

You should know, it only took me about 5 minutes to look like this. I was covered in dirt. I am all boy and love to play hard and get dirty.
You should also know I was in time out for hitting my brother with a shovel. Mama has way too many rules to remember them all, all the time! I hate time out.

Buildin' and Shootin' Hoops by John Lee

I am getting really good at building and I look forward to our trips to Lowes almost as much as Denny! Last time we build a carnival hoops game that even came with a little basketball. I figured out exactly how it went together.
Denny and I worked really hard to make sure our nails were straight and tight!
It all came together very nicely!
We left with a fun toy we had built ourselves!

Workin' with the College Kids by John Lee

Mama and Daddy pooled their resources and had their Collegiate Clubs work together on a fundraiser stuffing backpacks. Denny and I went to help after school. We had french fries and chicken nuggets to build up our strength.
Then we went to work! Denny was great at stuffing the packs.
I was great at moving the empty boxes.
The disorder was a little overwhelming, so I organized them into a nice neat line.
Denny stayed busy folding and stuffing.

We helped fill up the boxes or empty them as needed. We are pretty handy when it comes to fundraising. Mama and Daddy may decide to rent us out!

Spring is in the Pen by Denny Lynn

This time of year is our favorite field trip! We get to go to campus and see all the baby lambs! There are several sizes and colors.
We spent most of our time at the orphan pen. They were so sweet and glad to see us!
We loved petting them and I showed everyone how to put your finger out and have them suck on it, just like Daddy showed me.
We made our way over to the cow pens, but we were too early for the calves.
We practiced being lambs and got in our own pen! We made great "baa" sounds! We fit right in. I would have stayed, but Mama and Ms Darcy made us go. We really like the baby sheep. I want to take one home. I told Mama we don't have much time, because they are going to get big. She and Daddy say that when I get bigger, there will be new babies and maybe I can have one then. I think they secretly hope I outgrow it!
