Happy Birthday, CJ by John Lee

Our friend CJ is turning one! That means party time! I got CJ a giant ball - almost as big as him. I put alot of thought into picking just the right color and trying it out for him.
It was a bubble party! We each got our own bubble wand to start with - I spilled all my bubbles, but Denny made good  use of his.
We played a little golf - this was made exciting by their dog, who kept stealing the golf ball!
The bubble machine was the coolest. It made tons of bubbles and we chased them all over and danced in them!

Then it was time to sing Happy Birthday and let CJ blow out his candle! Even better, then it was time for cake. I am big on cake.

CJ had his very own cake, he even put his feet in it!
Next came presents - I think CJ liked his new ball! I am so glad CJ is our friend and that we could celebrate his birthday with him!

Flat Stanley by Denny Lynn

Cousin Jasper sent Flat Stanley to visit us. We are supposed to take pictures with him and tell about the places we live so Jasper can put it on the map. I took Flat Stanley to the river.

Then we took him up to one of our adventure spots- You can see all of Las Cruces and the mountains in the background. We really had fun with Stanley - the only thing that would be better is if Jasper could come with him!!

Build & Grow Terrariums by John Lee

Back to Lowes to Build and Grow! We love it. This week we made Terrariums. It was a fun project and pretty simple to put together. I like it because there is a hammer involved!
Denny and I get out our instructions and lay out all the pieces.
Then we get to put it all together!

I can't wait to put some plants in my box and watch them grow!!

Red Lobster by Denny Lynn

Ever since Eli got to go to Red Lobster for his birthday, I have been begging Mama and Daddy to take me! Finally, we got to go. We liked the lobster tank. A very nice lady took a lobster out for us to see.
John wasn't too sure about the lobster, but I liked him.
I even touched his tail. It was cool to see something new!
But in the end, I decided I would stick with Mac & Cheese - no lobster tail for me!

Just John by John Lee

All I can say is, I am a mess!! It is pretty fun being two. I really like to get dirty - Mama says I could be the next Mike Rowe!
I am getting really good at figuring things out. Here I am using my tool belt to haul horses around the house. Everything should be dual purpose! I am getting too big for my britches - and everything else! But you  have to admit I keep things interesting!!

Ag Day by Denny Lynn

Ms. Darcy was in charge of Ag Day at Holly's school. Mama and Daddy were helping, too, so we got to go! The Horseman's group came to teach the kids about rodeo and I got to help!
I showed each group how to run the barrel pattern.
Then I helped time and do the flag.
It was a long hot day, but lots of fun! I was a really good helper and had fun with the College kids. I can't wait to go back for another Ag Day!

Washin' Horses by Denny Lynn

When it is hot and the horses are dirty, it is time for a horse bath!! I love helping Daddy with the horses.

Work Party by John Lee

Daddy's boss had a bbq at his house for people from Daddy's work. We were excited to go along for the evening! We got dressed in our boots and jeans and packed up some horses to play with.

We learned about pitchin' washers (and yes, before the night was over I did get hit in the head with a washer, but it was an accident).
I opened and shut all the gates - repeatedly. This was a good activity for me. I also gathered pin cones throughout the evening.
And Denny and I played horses.
Denny played on the swings. I stood in front of the swings and got knocked down - twice.
We had lots of fun - we ate steaks and hotdogs and played all over. I liked going to work with Daddy. Now I know what he does all day.

Railroad Days by Denny Lynn

We love the train museum! Last Saturday was Railroad Days and we got to go! We put on our Thomas apparel and headed out!
For the special event they moved the train table outside to play. We got there early and had it all to ourselves!!

Inside we got to see all the neat historical stuff. John really liked the traffic light.
We learned about Morse Code and I tapped out a "D" for Denny!
It was very exciting when a real train came by and we all got to watch from the back patio. It was so close it made our hair blow.
And it was really loud!
We posed in the family photo - Mama thought this was a little girl and little boy, but we set her straight. John was the Grandma and I was the Grandpa.
They had all the model trains out and going with great scenery that included cars, trucks and all kinds of animals! There was even a little carnival.
A very nice lady was doing face painting, and though it said only cabooses, she made me a Thomas train.
John got a yellow caboose on his leg - he is too wired to have someone paint on his face! But he sat really still for his leg painting.
One thing that was different this time was that we could go in the fence by the old caboose. It is usually locked up, but we got up real close!
We also played beanbag toss - I am a champion tosser!
We learned about safety and got new coloring books, along with these fun conducter hats.

When it was time to go we had to head to WalMart for some shopping - Mama took us to the McDonalds in the store for a special treat lunch! Hamburgers and chicken nuggets and don't forget the fries! What a fun day!
