Our River by Denny Lynn

Ms. Darcy took a well deserved day off to celebrate the end of school with Holly, so Mama had to entertain us. We took an adventure down to our river. There is no water right now, so we got to check out the sand - it was like one big beach.

I told everyone we walked on the water, but it was only sand.
We found little sea shells and cool stones all along the river bed.

We even found some little crab claws.
To finish out our adventure we took a little time at the river side park. It could be that Mama was trying to wear us out in hopes of a nap (it didn't work, I never went to sleep), but it was a pretty fun adventure for a couple of explorers!

Happy Birthday, Addie by John Lee

Next on the birthday line up is Addie Mae! On Saturday, Denny and I went to Addie's party. Good food and good friends make for a great day!

It was a princess party, so there was a giant bouncy castle with a slide. I liked being the dragon in the castle and rawwring at everybody.
There was a bubble station and of course I took advantage of their playhouse and sandbox.
For game time, we all lined up for the pinata.
It was a tough one! We hit our hardest!

And finally success!
Presents and cake came next. Addie had a beautiful castle cake...
...it was yummy, too!
There were also pink cakepops! I at least got to try it before Mama ate it! (She loves cake pops).
We had so much fun at the party! I am very blessed to have such special friends!

Show and Tell Fun by John Lee

Last week Denny got to make cookies for Show and Tell. I wanted to make something, too. Knowing my short attention span and our limited supplies, Mama determined that we could make popsicles. Of course, they had to be yellow. We had some frozen pineapple and some coconut flavoring. Mama got out some yellow food coloring and we were all set.
I liked putting in the pineapple chunks.
Then we stirred up the coconut juice (yellow water, but good enough for me!)
Finally, we poured it in and put the tops on. It was hard work to get everything just right.
Into the freeze they go. Waiting for cookies is hard, but popsicles take even longer. We may have to invest in the little machine that makes popsicles in 7 minutes - that is more my speed.
Don't worry, my attention span kicked in and I kept myself entertained, forgetting all about the popsicles until Show and Tell time!

Show and Tell Fun by Denny Lynn

I love Show and Tell. I always want to come up with something fun that will wow my friends. Last week, Mama let me use a Pinterest recipe to take for treats. Before you make anything you have to wash your hands.
For this recipe we needed to beat two eggs. I squeezed the first one too hard and it went everywhere, but I did better the second time.
Once we had in the eggs and melted butter, we added the secret ingredient - a cake mix.
Then I mixed it all up.
Next came the chocolate chips.
And finally we spead it out in the pan.
Next it goes into the oven.
Now for the waiting - it is very hard to wait for cookies to cook, but I made it!
They turned out yummy and on Friday I took all the wrappers from the ingredients and told my friends how to make them, then I shared a sample! They loved them! This will be hard to top for my next show and tell!

Happy Birthday, Patrick by John Lee

For Patrick's birthday we got to take a field trip to the Railroad Museum! This is one of our favorite places, so we were very excited!
We learned about the old station and how people traveled a really long time ago.
Then it was time to see the model trains! We love to watch them go through the tunnel and around the bend!

The train table is always a hit! They have lots of track and trains to play with.

Finally, it was cupcake time! I ended up with frosting up both arms and on my forehead, but it was yummy!
Denny liked them, too!
Next came presents! We gave Patrick birthday presents...
...and he gave us goodies to thank us for coming to his party! I hope Patrick had a great birthday - I am so glad he shared it with us!

Happy Mother's Day by Denny Lynn

Mother's Day is a very special day! John and I always want to recognize the special grandmas in our life. This year we made special cards. First we traced our hands...
Then we cut them out (or Mama cut them out - it was kind of hard).
We ended up with two hands and a heart! Mine are the blue ones and John's are green.
John supervised while having animal crackers.
I signed my name on each one. Mama added some pictures of us and put them in an envelope.
Then we put them in the mailbox to go to everyone. We have another special surprise for them all when we see them, too!
On Mother's Day (Sunday) we took Mama to Cracker Barrel for lunch after church.

We made her a big card and coffee filter flowers in Sunday School. Then, we picked out a card with Daddy and we each signed our names.

We got Mama all kinds of cool stuff, starting with a cricut, but she got that early! We also picked out pretty sunglasses for her. I picked out awesome blue ones and John found rainbow ones, then Mama helped us re-evaluate our choice and we ended up with one pair of green and one pair of pink.

We also got her flashing clover earrings. We planted flowers for her and made picture frames at Darcy's house. We had a really fun Mother's Day, complete with a family ride down the river. I hope Mama enjoyed it - I know she was happy to spend the day with us!
