VBS Goes to the Beach by John Lee

It is Bible School time! I like going to Bible School, but I am kind of tired by the time it starts. We decided to have it on Wednesday nights this year. After the opening we got to pick a beach towel and head to class.
The first week we learned that God keeps his promises and how he sent his son Jesus a a baby.
Ms. Yvette was my teacher and boy did we have fun!
We got to dig on the beach, too. Beau and Eli were in my class.
My favorite part each week was snack time! The first week we had beach snack mix - I loved it because I could pick out all the M&Ms, and then I got Denny's M&Ms, too!
We got fun new sunglasses to take home, too. I am modeling the purple ones, but I traded them for yellow ones before we left!
Our mission project was to take school supplies for a local school. I picked crayons as my donation.
Sometimes I would dance and sing in the beginning - only if I thought it would get me snack, but I am quite the surfer!
We learned about God's provision and how he fed lots of people with just a few things the second week. When I tell this story, Jesus had five donuts and some fish.
We did crafts and made cool stuff.
Here is Ms. Coral helping me make my beach bag.
And then we loaded it up with my lesson for the week.
We each got our own puffer fish - I picked a yellow one!!
Learning about God is thirsty work.
Week three I didn't feel very good, so I hung out with Daddy, but week four I was better and my friends were back! We learned about God's plan.
Ms. Darcy helped me with my memory jar. I really like my picture. We trimmed it and had it all ready, but in the end, I didn't want John (the one in the picture) to get sand on him, so I refused to put him in the jar.
I added my own rocks and sea shells to make it look like a beach.
And finally - I had been waiting all day for Ms. Denise's cupcakes!!
I picked one with a yellow umbrella and it was yummy! I looked like a beach with teddies swimming and sunbathing!
I was very excited to go up with my class and get my certificate!
I gave Ms. Yvette a picture of us in a beach frame so when always remember VBS at the beach. I told her "Thank you for being my teacher!"
I am glad Bible School is over so I can rest, but I will miss seeing everyone!

VBS Goes to the Beach by Denny Lynn

I love Vacation Bible School! This year we did it on Wednesday nights. My friends got to come and everything! Our motto was God is Faithful, Can You Dig It! We were on the beach!
After the opening song we went to class. My teacher was Ms. Reba. Patrick and Holly were in there, too. Week one we learned that God always keeps his promises.
We made seashell wind chimes to remind us to listen to God and that he keeps his promises.
We had beach snack mix with gold fish, M&Ms, raisins and nuts. I loved it - I ate everything but the M&Ms and them I traded with John - he ate just the M&Ms!
We got new sunglasses to help us celebrate our beach blast!
Our mission project was to bring school supplies that will go to a local school to help kids who can't afford them.
Each week we picked a beach towel to sit on in class - I always got the blue one.
I loved the stories. The second week we learned about God's provision and how Jesus fed many people with just a little food.
Then we made our own beach bag to carry our provisions!

Week three brought us all together for a really cool story with Ms. Gina.
We got to be Disciples and pretend we were on a boat and a big storm came.
We used flashlights to make lightening and poster board for thunder. When Jesus told the storm "Be Still" it stopped. This teaches us about God's Power.
We made a storm in a jar to take home. Mine had blue and green glitter!

Our snack was oyster cookies - cookies with strawberry cream cheese and a marshmallow for the pearl!
Finally, it was the last week! I was sad to see it end, but I had so much fun!
This week we learned about God's Plan.
Then we made beach memory jars to remind us of all we learned at VBS! We layered sand and rocks, then picked some seashells.
We added a picture of us and a tag for VBS. I was very proud of my jar.
Ms. Denise brought us a very special snack - CUPCAKES! They had teddies on the beach and they were yummy!

Finally, we got our certificate for coming to VBS. Grace and I are the only ones that came every week.
Here I am with Ms. Reba - I made her a special beach picture frame to thank her for being my teacher. She is going to be my Sunday School teacher this fall, too and I am very excited.
VBS was so much fun - I would go every week if I could! I really appreciate all the people who worked hard to make it a great experience for me.

Ruidoso Fun by John Lee

Off to Ruidoso for a grand adventure! There is nothing like a family trip! I love to go to "the hotel", especially if there is a pool to play in.
We got to have a pizza/movie party on Friday night - I watched Chuck the Truck!
I was one handsome guy in my hat and yellow shirt, ready for a day of adventure.
We started off at the little park we like. Grandma came to see us.
She helped me do the monkey bars...
...and posed with me and Mama while Denny took our picture.
I had lots of fun with Grandma at the races. We shared lunch...
...and watched the tractors (my favorite part).
I even used my best cute face to try and get her to take me to her house so I wouldn't have to go to school!
Denny and I got new jockey goggles and a jockey stick. Mama says the stick in not for hitting brothers, but I think it just needs to be tested.
Daddy helped me play a game to win a gumball.
And I took the lion for a ride - this was a great way to try our my goggles and my stick.
Finally, it was time for the horse sale. It is important to read the catalog and make an informed decision...or go sit in the car and watch a movie until the sale is done.
We had a really fun time in Ruidoso and I hope we can do it again!
