Life in the Pits! by John Lee

I find the ball pit most relaxing and a great place to just hangout!
When Mama said it looked like I could sleep in there, I showed her what it would look like if I did! I am a funny kid!

Happy Thanksgiving Fairacres Style by John Lee

Our church held a Thankksgiving dinner for the whole community! Me and Denny got to go! There was lots of yummy food to eat.
We chowed down on all the traditional Thanksgiving foods, and most importantly, chocolate cake!
Then we had some time to play with Beau. I like Beau a lot!
We even took him outside to play on the playground! I liked the slide...
...even though I had to fight with Denny to climb up!
I also spent some time on the swing, just like a big boy! I am growing up so fast! I am thankful for my church family and the fun things we get to do with them. I am also thankful for chocolate cake!

Shooting Pow-Pows by John Lee

This weekends adventure was a trip to the shooting range so that Mama and Daddy could try out the shotgun. Denny tried out the ear plugs, but I just watched a movie in the van.
After the parents were done, me and Denny got to try out the cap gun - with caps and everything!
I would blink really hard each time the caps would pop, but I felt like a big boy getting to shoot. We have been learning that you only use play guns and never touch a real gun.
I was also a big helper picking up our shells and caps, so we didn't leave any mess. It was a neat new adventure for the Turner boys. I can't wait for more.

Buildin' and Growin' by John Lee

It was build and grow time again! This time we got to make Santa's sleigh. We were a little late, so we had to wait for hammers. Denny checked out the "constructions" while we were waiting.
Finally, it was our turn. We laid out all our parts and opened up the nails.
I was happy just to have a hammer!
The plastic table was to bouncy, so we moved to the floor. I liked this, as it gave me the opportunity to relax under the table while Denny and Mama worked!
We finally ended up with some pretty cute sleighs - complete with Santa and reindeer.
Denny wants to know if reindeer come from rain, but I know - reindeer are magic and come from the North Pole. I am not pictured here because by this time my cooperation level had hit an end, but it was fun to go and build something special.

Playin' Trains by Denny Lynn

Most of you know that I love trains! I play all the time. The best way to play is with John and my Daddy.
We play on my train table, or on the floor. I have lots of tracks and and different trains to keep it exciting!
The best part is spending time together!

The Big Horses by Denny Lynn

The Clydesdales came to town! There was a show at the mall so we went out to see. The team of giant horses pulls a red wagon with two drivers and a spotted dog! (the dog was John's favorite part).
We got to go up close and talk to the drivers, but then we watched them pull the wagon. It was very exciting.
Here is our group in front of the wagon.
It was neat to watch - I am pretty sure these horses eat more than my horses! I hope they will come to visit again soon!

This Week's Show and Tell by Denny Lynn

I learned all about chop sticks by watching Special Agent Oso. I practice whenever we have Chinese food. For this weeks show and tell, Mama and I decided we could show everyone how to use chopsticks. We even got enough for everyone. I took plates and fruit snacks for each person to practice. Of course, I had to practice first!
I always have to remember how to hold them just right, but with a little time, I can pick something up.
Since it is pretty hard, I knew everyone wouldn't be able to do it. I also showed them how to use their chopstick to stab whatever they wanted to eat and eat it off the stick! It was a great show and tell project to share. I am already thinking for next week.

More Adventures by Denny Lynn

I really wanted another adventure this weekend. Daddy said we could have one on Sunday, but by the times naps were done, it was almost dark. We decide to drive out to the high rest area where you can see the whole city of Las Cruces!
We did the balance beam along the wall and posed for some photos by the three crosses.

We followed it up with ice cream! It was a pretty fun adventure for the family, even if we had to go in the dark, and then John ate his ice cream cone from the bottom up and handed Mama a hand full of ice cream! We have lots of good moments together!

Operation Christmas Child by John Lee

It is collection time for Operation Christmas Child! We get to fill boxes with fun stuff that goes all over the world to provide Christmas gifts to children. We made the boxes first (that was Denny and Mama's job).
Mama had been saving stuff all yeaer to go into the boxes! We had stickers and books - even socks and toothbrushes! Of course, a few small toys and stuffed animals, too! We each got to pick stuff for one box, then Mama helped fill the rest.
Denny was very picky - me not so much! If it was close enough to grab, it went in the box. Mama did some rearranging when I was done, but I am a good box packer!

Once you close up and put the label on they are ready to go! We took them to church on Sunday morning and sent them on their way! It was fun to pack the boxes and a great way to share our many blessings!

King of the World by John Lee

I spent a few days with Grandma and Grandpa while Mama and Daddy went to do 4-H stuff. Denny was there, too. I know that I am the king most of the time, but especially at Grandma's house. We met Mama and Daddy at Burger King to come home and I got a crown to prove it! A crown on my head and Caillou in the DVD player. Who could ask for more?

Toys for Tots by Denny Lynn

It is that time of year! Christmas is coming soon and though we are trying to focus on Thanksgiving, it can be hard! For a 4-H service project, Mama needed to get toys for Toys for Tots. Some kids don't get any presents because their families can't afford it. I know I will have lots of presents (me and Mama lissted off all the people who love me and will get me gifts) so, I wanted to pick out something special for another little boy who might not get anything.
John got to pick one, too. He picked out a cool train that plays music.
I picked out a train, too (imagine that)! It has it's own track. I hope these toys will make some little boy happy on Christmas! It is fun to give presents, even if we don't know who gets them.

Happy Birthday, Daddy by Denny Lynn

November means lots of birthdays! Starting out with Daddy's on the 1st! I helped wrap his presents and signed my own name!
We had a little cake with candles and everything - I think John liked this part best.
What could be bad about chocolate and frosting! It was yummy.

Then it was time for presents! There were presents from Nana & Papa, Aunt Judy, Grandma & Grandpa and of course from us!
We even got Daddy a special frame to put our Scooby Doo family picture in! I hope Daddy had a great birthday and we are thankful for everyone who helped make it so special!

Trick or Treat by Denny Lynn

Yea for Halloween!! I was so excited to trick or treat! We went to First Baptist to trunk or treat. I took my Scooby wheelie bag - 1. because it would hold lots of candy, and 2. it matched my Shaggy costume.

Everyone recognized my costume! It was fun to talk to everyone - and get candy of course!
Some cars had games to play, too. Those were of course my favorites.
They also had a popcorn machine! After we made the rounds, we had to stop off for a bag of popcorn to share. It was a really fun way to trick or treat all in one place!
After we left the church we headed out to the Fairacres Volunteer Fire Department for games and fun! I got to use the water pump to put out the fire in the Jack O Lanterns. I was really good at it, too!

We got to go out and see the firetruck up close. It was really loud, but it has lots of cool stuff on it! What a great night! I would like to have Halloween once a week, but Mama says once a year is enough!
