5 Months Old by John Lee

I am officially 5 months Old as of Sunday. In honor of the occasion Mama dressed me in my new John Deere overalls Aunt Judy gave me. I can roll over on my own and I have figured out how to get up on all fours. I will be crawling in no time! I can already scoot around pretty good – mostly backwards. I think 5 months is the best age yet!

My Boots by Denny Lynn

When we go to Oklahoma we shop for boots. I get a bigger size to last at least a year or two. This year I had already decided I wanted green boots. Fortunately they had green boots in my size. Once I had them on I refused to try on anything else.

I found some boots for John, too, but Mama said they were too big. I tried them on him anyway because I don’t plan to share my green boots. I really like my green boots.

Happy Birthday, Addie by Denny Lynn

John and I got to go to another birthday party on Saturday – this time for our friend Addie – she turned two.

It was a flower and butterfly party with lots of fun things to do. We planted our own flowers in pots we decorated.

We also made ladybugs with our thumb prints for spots. John used his toes!

We each got our own individual bug cake to eat with ice cream.

We played games like fill the bucket.

The most exciting thing was playing in the sprinklers! We got all wet, dried off and got all wet again! I am so glad Addie turned two!

On the Road by Denny Lynn

Travelling can be fun! Since I am a big boy now and I don’t need a diaper, there are lots of stops – I especially like getting to “pee on the rocks”. Daddy even found some cool rest areas with playgrounds.

We played chase on the way home and raced the trains as we drove. We had a pretty fun trip.

Oklahoma by John Lee

I liked traveling to Oklahoma. I got a little tired of being in my car seat, but it was worth it once we got there.

I got to play with everyone! I hung out with Uncle Jeff, Nana and Papa.

I had lots of laughs with Granny Nellie.

Denny helped Daddy give me a bath in the sink at Uncle Jeff’s house – that was pretty fun!

I really liked meeting everyone – Granny Sharon, Aunt Judy and the crew. I am excited to go back soon and laugh some more!

Oklahoma by Denny Lynn

We got to go to Oklahoma to see some of my family. It was a fun trip. We met Daddy in Albuquerque and then started driving. We went across Texas and into Oklahoma. We stayed with Uncle Jeff and had the most fun!

I liked spending time with Nana and Papa.
I got to play with Jasper, too – and hang out with Granny Nellie playing cards.

We went to the cemetery on Decoration Day and put flowers on my Great-Papas graves.
I even learned to jump rope (near a rope at least)!

I went to play at Granny Sharon’s and we went to the park down the street. I really liked the big slide and riding the skunk.

We saw the ducks at the other park and even found duck eggs under the slide.

I played catch with Kenley and guitar with Aunt Judy.

I had lots of hamburgers - at Braums of course! This is the face you make when they forget to leave the pickles off even after you tell them.

I miss everyone already, but we will be going back soon to visit!

Baby’s 1st Braums by John Lee

So Denny had warned me – when we go to Oklahoma, we have Braums everyday, so we have to hope we like it. My first Braums was in Amarillo. To start with I just got the same ole bottle, but Daddy felt sorry for me and let me naw on a French fry – with Mama making sure I didn’t choke.

So far I have had four trips to Braums and I like the ice cream! I can’t wait to go back!

Firehouse Denny by Denny Lynn

We got to go on a cool field trip to the firehouse! We met real firemen and toured the house.

We even got to climb up in the truck.

I really liked learning about what firemen do – they were all really nice. I thought the sirens were kind of loud, but it was a really fun trip just the same!

Going with Grandma by Denny Lynn

Grandma came to visit to help me and Mama get ready to take John to Oklahoma. Daddy had to work, so it was just us.
Grandma even got to go to gymnastics with me.

She fed John his first sweet potatoes – and he liked them!

It was great to have Grandma here to play and a big help to get ready for our trip.

Me and Teddy by Denny Lynn

Most of you know that Teddy is my best friend. I like to take him everywhere. He eats when I eat and plays when I play. He even wears glasses with me.

I am teaching him to ride my tricycle so we can make a train. He is a great buddy to have!

Big Boy Toys by John Lee

I am getting so big! I can finally play with my toys. I like the jumperoos – I even have one that looks like a horse!

I play on the fish mat and kick it with my feet!
The car Santa brought me for Christmas is finally ready for me to drive on my own. Life just keeps getting more exciting and fun!
