Natural Disaster by John Lee

Everyone was very excited on Friday. Grandma and Grandpa were coming and Denny's Scooby Doo birthday was going to be on Saturday. When Mama got home that afternoon with Grandma & Grandpa, the house was full of water! A pipe in the ceiling had busted and rained down water on the half of the house with our bedrooms. There was enough water that the ceiling in Denny's room got soft and then fell down on his bed, bringing Grandpa with it! Lucklily, everyone was ok. And started cleaning up the water. It was a pretty big mess. Daddy rented big wet dry vacs and blowers to dry and get rid of the water!
We ended up getting to stay at a hotel overnight. It was very exciting - Sonic for dinner and everything.
Grandma and Denny played cards while I explored and we waited for Daddy and Grandpa.
They brought me my own bed for the night - they brought the girl stuff, but that was ok. I had my own blanket anyway. I hung out in the crib and read books.
In the morning we had hotel breakfast before going to get Denny's party ready. Uncle Rex and Aunt Lynette let us come to their house since as Denny says "Our house was a mess!"

More Birthday, by Denny Lynn

On my birthday, not only did I get to have a fun lunch, there were special cards and presents from people who love me! I got a new Veggie Tales movie from Grandma & Grandpa, lots of cool stuff from Aunt Judy, Uncle Wade and Kenley and my very own money from Nana and Papa! It was such a special day! I can't believe I am already three!

Happy Birthday, Bubba by John Lee

The other day we went to the train museum with all my friends from Ms Darcy's. Mama meet us there with pizza and juice. There were balloons and fun stuff - even my Daddy came!
I peeked through the windows of the fun train upstairs to have my picture made.
When we went down to play - they had cool trains and tracks everywhere. My favorite thing was this great bucket they had left by the train table. I pushed it all around, making lap after lap.
I spent a little time redesigning the tracks - I may be an engineer someday and I need to practice.
I liked watching the model trains go round and round. I really wanted to play with the trucks in the little town, but Mama said no.
Oh, yea. My brother, Denny, was there, too. I think they sang Happy Birthday to him or something. Anyway, I really liked the train museum.

Special Birthday Lunch by Denny Lynn

For my birthday we got to take my friends to one of my favorite places - the Train Museum! Mama met us there with pizza and drinks. We had special Thomas napkins that I got to pass out and even a Thomas balloon!
We took some time to pose by the train - you can almost see all of us! John was too busy to pose!
I got special presents from Ms. Darcy - Scooby Doo books and a Birthday Boy Scooby Doo ribbon!
We lined up like a train - and even choo-chooed down the hall to the very special room with all the trains.
They have model trains that go round and round. We especially liked the tunnel on this one because the train has a headlight and we can see it coming!
They have a train table, too with lots of tracks and trains. We all played & played & played! I love going and using their trains, but it was extra special with my friends.
When it was time to go, I passed out fruit snacks and Thomas zipper pulls for everyone. Then we loaded up to head back to school where we all had really good naps! It was a very special birthday lunch - I would do it everyday!

Early Birthday Surprise by Denny Lynn

So the severe cold weather knocked out the water at our house, so we had to reschedule my birthday party. Since it was ready, Mama and Daddy let me go ahead and have my present. I had to go in my Thomas tent and read while they got it ready. When Mama came to get me, I covered my eyes and she led me to the dining room.
Daddy yelled "SURPRISE!" and I opened my eyes to find my very own train table!! I was so excited!!
It has a special board that Daddy made with two sides. One side has Thomas and two sets of tracks. The other side has tracks for my battery trains to run on. I can run at least four trains at a time! Down in the table is a third top that is flat, so I can build my own tracks, drive cars or play other games.
John got his own special Mickey Mouse so he wasn't left out. He loves Mickey, but still likes to play with my table. Me and Daddy call him the train robber because he steals the trains!
I can even use my table for puzzles and stuff. I have been playing trains every night! It is so exciting to have my table. I can't wait to show it off at my party. Mama made it a special place in my room.

The Woes of Weather by John Lee

When it gets cold, IT GETS COLD! We had severe cold temperatures last week. Mama and Daddy even got to stay home from work. We had some issues with water at our house. We had to move Denny's birthday party to this weekend because of all the water trouble! It wasn't so bad. We got to go over to Uncle Rex's to get water. Etienne was there and we played puzzles - well, he and Denny played puzzles - me and Lori Darlin (the Yorkie) just stole the pieces!
Denny helped Daddy fill the buckets and get things loaded up. They worked way too hard for me - I was all about playing!
Once we had some water, Denny and I got to take baths in the big bucket by the fire. Mama and Daddy heated the water and carried it over. They even added oatmeal bath to keep our skin healthy. It was kind of fun all in all! I should be in my late 20's before this happens again!

Snow Day by Denny Lynn

It's a snow day! Even Mama's office was closed, so we got to stay home. First thing we set up all my trains to wait for it to warm up enough to go outside. Well, not all my trains, but a few.
Finally it was time to get ready! It took a long time to get everyone ready - I had on sweats, widn pants, two pairs of socks, a t-shirt, my Elmo fleece, gloves, my jammie hat and my heavy coat. Then Mama put sandwich bags on our feet with duct tape so our toes wouldn't get wet and freeze.
John had footy pajamas under wind pants and a sweat shirt - then he got a heavy coat and sandwich bags, too. When he fell over, he couldn't get up!
We blazed trails in the snow! It was the first time for John, and he liked it (at first, he got tired of it pretty quick because it was hard for him to walk).
I was too excited about building snowmen to worry about anything else. We had some trouble getting the snow to stick, so Mama used my bucket to pack it and make a base. We used a up for his head. Then we used a cup again after John knocked his head off! I picked our a stick to make arms and found a carrot for his nose.
We used my Santa hat and John's sunglasses for finishing touches. He came out pretty cute. Daddy had to go to a meeting, but when he gets home I know he will help me make a big snowman to go with my little one!
I liked teaching John about the snow and playing outside. It was too cold to stay out long. It took as long to get dressed as we were actually outside - but it was worth it!
