Saving the Day by John Lee

So, my plastic sword from Eli's birthday party broke. Yes, I broke it. This was sad, because I loved it and I slept with it to fight the dragons in my bad dreams. Luckily, Mama found us some foam swords at Hobby Lobby. This is me with my sword - I am saying "I am here to save the day."

This is how I go to bed. My milk in one hand and my sword in the other! Those dragons don't stand a chance!

Happy Birthday, Kaydi by Denny Lynn

It is birthday season! This weekend we were invited to a luau for Kaydi's birthday! I like picking our presents and wrapping them up. 

There was a pool...

A watertable....

And a slip and slide! Uncle Rex helped me figure out how to slide.

I crawled a little and slid a little, but it worked.

John pulled himself along pretty good!

It looked like a water fountain to him!

We all lined up for picture, but it was a trick - the adults threw water balloons at us! I thought it was funny, but John cried!

We had lots of fun in the water and playing with our cousins.

We had yummy food and watched Kaydi open up her gifts.

Then it was time for cake and root beer floats!!

John found other fun ways to celebrate with all Kaydi's toys before we left!

We had sooo much fun! I am glad Kaydi got a year older!

Lowes Fun by John Lee

Another funfilled Saturday at Lowes! Since it was Mother's Day weekend we had a special Build & Grow. We got to make flower box picture frames. Denny was excited because he remembered his apron and goggles.

I wore my apron, but I was not thrilled about it. I mostly just like the hammer.

This was a neat project, but it had more pieces than usual, so it took us a little while to finish them.

I was excited to get mine together! They came out cute.

The real excitement this week was outside. The race cars were visiting. We were excited to see them, but even more excited when one of the drivers said we could sit in his car.

You got to crawl in through the window, then sit on a cool seat. I tried to honk the horn, but it didn't work.

It was really fun! I can't wait to drive a race car for real!

Time to Paint by Denny Lynn

I love to make things! Awhile back, Mama let me pick out a craft kit at WalMart. I chose race cars that you can paint. There were three in the kit, so that made one for John, one for me and left one more for Daddy. We put on our paint shirts and got to work. First we had to put the cars together.

It was hard to get the glue to stick and it took forever to dry! After the first one, Mama broke out the glue gun so we could get to painting.

Mama painted most of John's, but he helped some. Of course his was yellow.

I painted mine half blue, then decided it should be all green and I painted it all green!

There were cool stickers for each car. Once we got them all together we had our own races! It was a fun project.

End of Semester Fun by John Lee

This is finals week for the University. That means that all the clubs are having end of year stuff. We got to our to eat with the Horseman's Club. It was yummy!

Denny and I shared the tacos and had big fun visiting with everyone.

Denny helped give watches to the outgoing officers.

On Sunday, we celebrated with the Collegiate 4-H'ers at a picnic in the park. It was wonderful - the weather was great and we got to slide and slide while Mama had her meeting.

And there were cupcakes...

My Buddy by Denny Lynn

Our friend Wyatt has a horse that he doesn't need anymore. His name is Buddy. He is visiting at our house so we can try him out. If we like him, he gets to stay. He is really nice and just right for little boys. I call him Buddy the Bay.

He came on Thursday night, so I thought he would make a great show and tell for Friday. When my friends came to pick me up, we all went back to the round pen.

I let them help give him some feed and hay.

Then I showed them all about  the frog in his foot and how it makes a triangle. Daddy helped me get Buddy to lift his hoof.

On Saturday we tried him out for riding. I even got to ride out by myself in the pasture.

John tried him out, too. He calls him Wyatt, since Wyatt gave him to us. He was fun to ride and very sweet. I hope he gets to stay, but I guess we will see.
