The Kentucky Horse Park by John Lee

We spent a day and a half at the Kentucky Horse Park. It is a pretty amazing place!
They have a monument to Secretariat right out front. That was Denny's favorite.

They also had all kinds of great exhibits.
Including a Kids' Barn full of all kinds of games and cool stuff to learn about horses.

We made good looking jockeys!

We explored breeds, grooming, shoeing, riding - if it had to do with a horse, we learned about it!

We even got to race out of the gates!

My favorite part was the monument to John Henry - he is my favorite horse because he has my name! He is buried at the Horse Park.
We even saw a couple of cats that live around the barns. We had to take time to pet each one!
We even found a place to stretch out now and then!
They have horse drawn trolley rides to take you around the park. We had to wait in line, but it was totally worth it!
The trolley took us around the whole park.

The draft horses that pulled us were amazing and really big!
They had lots of other big stuff, too! This globe is made out of horse shoes.

There was also a giant basket and giant chairs.

Not too mention trees so big we couldn't get our arms around them!
It was such a pretty place and well taken care of.
We practiced jumping like a horse!
This is the dance you do when you find the perfect YELLOW hat to take home!
We ran a race comparing the length of Secretariat, John Henry and Man of War.
Then we learned all about Man of War and his offspring. He was pretty amazing, too!
When we went back the next day, we went into the International Museum of the Horse. They had a movie about John Henry!
We learned about horses from all over the world and the jobs horses have had throughout time.
It was a special day at the Park, so we got to do some other fun kid activities, including face painting!
Denny got a blue horseshoe.
I picked a horse head!
I even got to sit on a pony to have my picture made!
The best part was the corn dogs.
We had so much fun and learned new things. If you like horses, this is the place to go.
