Claiborne Farms by Denny Lynn

I have been asking for over a year to go and see where Secretariat is buried. That is the main reason we went to Kentucky. After he retired from racing, Secretariat lived a Claiborne Farm. That is where his grave is. We took a tour to learn about the stud farm. These pathways are made from recycled tires.
The Claiborne colors are yellow and white - John was excited to see all the yellow.

We got to meet some of the horses. They were really pretty and worth more than my house!
It was wonderful weather to be outside and check everything out.
This is the stall where Secretariat lived. You can see his nameplate.
This horse is Blame - I watched a video all about him before we took our tour.
The last stop was the cemetery. Secretariat was one of about a dozen horses buried there.
He was 19 when he died. He had a pretty amazing life and he is definitely my favorite race horse!
It was an experience I will never forget. Such a beautiful and amazing place.
