Being John, by John Lee

Ask who I am - I will tell you - I am John Lee Turner (unless I am someone else - like John the Firefighter).
Or I might be Knight John. ready to ride with my helmet, my shield, my sword and my trusty steed.

I really like to be sheriff John, but imagine if Sheriff John were also a knight - seriously, a gun and a sword, not to mention helmet to protect your head and your hat! That is the way to go!

Happy Birthday, Jacob by Denny Lynn

Jacob is 9! He had a Duck Dynasty party and we got to go! We had tons of fun. We had a frog hunt - and we found them all!
The we played pen the beard on the Robertson.
I could see through my blindfold, but so could everyone else.
John was the only one who really couldn't see!

We had a frog eating contest...
...and a donut eating contest. NO HANDS!

Then it was time for cake! We sang Happy Birthday nice and loud!
It was camo cake and it was yummy!
We had tons of fun playing with friends and family.
And getting treats!
Jacob was even nice enough to share his new toys with everyone. I hope Jacob had a really great birthday, because we had a really great time at his party!

Cloverbud Day by Denny Lynn

I get to be a Cloverbud! We are going to have a club at Fairacres and I get to be in it. My first official function was the county Cloverbud Day! John stayed with Daddy, but Mama took me and I even already knew some of the other kids!
We started off with a game, then headed out to activities. I made a rocket and launched.

I learned about goats...
...dairy heifers...
...rabbits...
...made ice cream...

...did ceramics...
...learned about the parts of a saddle...
...and nutrition...
...did some scrapbooking...
...and made a pinch pot - but that was just the beginning!!
I made a doorhanger for my room...
...a cool visor to keep the sun out of my eyes...
...planted seeds...
...shot a bow and arrow...
...and a rifle...
...stuffed a goody bag to help a homeless person...
...and learned about not being a bully, but being a Super Buddy. I made my mask and my frame!

Then I made trail mix - one for me and one to give to a soldier.
My last project was a pig pancake, which was either yummy, or I was starving, because I ate every bite!
Tanner, Colby and I compared notes on what we had done.
I got my first 4-H Certificate and a 4-H Coin. I am glad to know that 4-H is for kids like me, not just the college kids and high school kids I have seen with Mama and Daddy.
And finally, I got a snow cone for the road! They had hot dogs, but I was too full from eating my pig. It was a yummy snow cone and Ms. Eva made me the biggest one ever! I decided I love 4-H and I want to do everything, but especially shoot a bow and have a rabbit.

Kindergarten Here I Come by Denny Lynn

There is a lot to know to be ready for Kindergarten! We started out at registration night, getting all of the information and meeting the teachers.
Mama had to work a 4-H table, so while we waited for Daddy to come, John and I acted as the doormen.
We were excited to use the water fountains.
The PTO fed us ice cream to celebrate a new year. We signed up for our transition day time..I couldn't believe I had to wait a little bit longer.
Finally, it was Kindergarten Transition Day. I really didn't like it that Mama and Daddy got to come with me and I didn't get to stay all day, but I liked seeing my class and checking out the school.

Addie is in my class and I was super excited to see her! We did some puzzles together and listened to Ms. V read a story.

Then we met the nurse in her office and toured the cafeteria.
After some playtime, we learned about pick up and drop off in our spot - I had to borrow Mama's sunglasses because I forgot my hat.
Here I am with Ms. V - we are ready for a fun and exciting year!
It was finally time for the first day! Mama let me pack my lunch into my new lunch box.

I got right up in the morning and got ready to head out!
Addie and I were all decked out for the first day and ready to be Kindergartners!
I said goodbye to John...
...and blew a kiss to Mama and Daddy and off I went to be a big boy!
I am sure I will have lots of adventures to share at my new school with my new friends!
