Thank You Volunteers by Denny Lynn

We had the chance to thank all the parents that help out at school throughout the year. My class got to sing to them. I was glad to see Mama and the other parents who came. It is great to be part of a school with our friends where so many people come to help out.

Mom's Day Off by Denny Lynn

When we got home Monday I told Mama that the day before was Mother's Day and today was her day off, so I would be cooking supper and doing all her work (well, I did cook supper). She asked what I would make and I said, "Chicken for the kids and ...something for the parents." We decided on enchiladas. I cooked the meat and then layered it with sauce, tortillas and cheese.

Then I set the table and got everyone together.
I did such a good job, Mama may take more days off!
Even John was happy since I also made little hot dogs!
I know that Mama works hard taking care of us and I want to help when I can. I hope she enjoyed her day off while she did the dishes.

Happy Mother's Day by John Lee

You have to keep presents a surprise. I had been saving it for so long they had a hard time convincing me it was actually Mother's Day and it was ok to give it to Mama. I decorated the wrapping paper myself.
I made the card and Ms. Patsy put my picture on it. I drew a picture of me and Mama to show her how much I love her - then I saved it for Mom's Appreciation Day.
Mama also got a pillow with our pictures on it. We also sent on to Grandma, Ma, Nana and Granny Sharon. I hope they like them - I wish we could have been with them for Mother's Day!
We are so blessed by the women in our lives!

Happy Mother's Day by Denny Lynn

I worked really hard at school on gifts for mom. I really wanted her to see how much I love her! I brought everything home earlier in the week and hid it under my bed until Mother's Day. I made three cards, each one telling her I love her!
I also made her a cup and a potpourri box - in just the right color! I was so excited I had to give it to her first thing in the morning!
I wanted Mama to have a wonderful Mother's Day - we took her to church and out to lunch. It was family time and that is the best time! I just wish we could have had Grandma, Ma, Nana and Granny here!

Happy Birthday, Kaydi by John Lee

On to the next party! Cousin Kaydi had a water party! There was a slip-n-slide and a pool. I am so glad summer is here and it is time for outdoor fun! Cousins and water - who could ask for more!

We also had yummy food and more cake!
Then it was present time! We got to pick out girl stuff for Kaydi - that was different for us and kind of fun.

We hope Kaydi had a happy birthday - we had loads of fun at the party!

Happy Birthday Patrick and CJ by Denny Lynn

May is birthday season! We have a party every week - sometimes two! We love to celebrate our friends. Patrick and CJ had their party together this year and we got to go to Chuck E Cheese!
We had so much fun seeing friends and playing.

John kind of likes the relaxed way of riding a horse, but I know you don't ride a horse this way!
We had yummy pizza and lots of laughs.

We had to leave early for another party, so Mrs. Magan was nice enough to have cake early so we could get some!
Everyone helped put on the candles.

Then they blew them out! It was fun to hang out with old friends and wish them Happy Birthday!

The Planting Begins by John Lee

I can't wait to grow pumpkins! We have started our planting to have a garden this year. We planted seeds into our peat pots to start them sprouting.
First we put in flags to show what they would be.
Then we added seeds to that row. I started with the pumpkin seeds.
You have to push them way in and cover the hole.
Denny started with carrot seeds and he had to make bigger holes to drop them in, so he used a pencil.

Next we did a row of green beans and a row of tomatoes. I really hope something grows!
It takes time to make things grow. Now the waiting starts.
