Since Daddy had to work and we didn't, we did some fun outings with Mama! Our first one was the Tulsa Air and Space Museum. It was amazing! They had a jet trainer that you could get in and actually try. We took turns being in the front seat.
We also got to see some neat old planes!
One was even a yellow one - it was John's favorite!
I liked the big propeller.
Then we headed upstairs where they had tons of fun stuff for kids to do! Here John and I are learning how air pressure makes things move.
We tried out mission control - we liked all the buttons!
We learned how the planets orbit the sun the the ways that effects space travel.
We saw how the Big Dipper looks in the night sky.
And we learned how air pressure effects our bodies by taking all the air out of a box and then letting it back in. The little men were pretty funny to watch.
They had giant puzzles of planes and rocket ships.
And a pin ball game that simulated orbit.
Even a table with Legos!
The big mats made a giant rocket.
And here you could put your hands in the big gloves and use tools - just like the astronauts do in space!
We had out picture made as a astronaut in space.
And then we got to launch off a real rocket ship! We had to listen and follow all the instructions carefully!
But up it went!!
We got to start a real jet engine - man, it was LOUD!
I got to fly the model airplane from the simulator (John was too little, but he watched me and helped me know which way to go).
I also got to use the robot arm just like they do in real space! I used the controls to pick up the green circle and move it to the other side of the ship.
We also made the balls fly with air pressure.
The final part of our tour was the Planetarium. We read some books about space while we waited for the show to start.
Since we were the only ones there they picked a movie just for us! It was the Tale of the Cardboard Rocket and we learned about all the planets.
It was neat to look up at the dome and see the night sky. We liked it a lot. It was a fun place to visit and it you are ever through Tulsa we highly recommend it!
