Off to Work With Daddy by Denny Lynn

Daddy had a special meeting with the college kids to ride some horses and I got to go along. I put on my boots and my helmet so I was ready for anything.

We went out to the arena and I helped haul tack and buckets for everyone.

Mama and John came with pizza for lunch. This was really funny because John's pants were too big! Mama had to put suspenders on them to keep them up. He looked like a little farmer. Don't tell anyone, but when we got home that night, Mama figured out that John was wearing my pants and that is why they didn't fit!
This is what you look like after a day of hard work and good times! I hope I get to go back with Daddy again soon!

It's a Party at Our House by Denny Lynn

Daddy needed to have a meeting with his college kids, so we decided they should come over to our house for dinner. Mama cooked up some food and dressed me and John up in our cowboy clothes. We had to hang out and wait so we wouldn't mess up the house Mama had been cleaning!
We had homemade lasagna and yummy bread. There was even ice cream cake for dessert. I said the prayer for everyone with Daddy.
John and I both liked having all that company. I hope they come back soon to play!

Our Albuquerque Vacation by John Lee

Good food and good company! That was my trip to Albuquerque. Me and Denny went with Mama and Daddy to the Horse Council Dinner. I got to get all dressed up and feast on rice and meat. It was all very exciting and when it got to be too much, Mama took me and Denny to the van to watch a movie. Good times!
We stayed over and made a special family day on Sunday. We all went to the Aquarium and the Zoo. I had it made with my stroller. Denny even rode with me some. It saved lots of walking and gave me a chance to take it all in!
We started out in the Aquarium. My favorite was the Jelly Fish! They were so pretty, but I liked everything I saw! Maybe someday I can swim with all those cool animals.
From the Aquarium we went to the zoo. We rode the zoo train and saw all the cool animals! We had so much fun you could hardly stand it! When we got on the train to head back to our car I was pretty tired, but the good kind of tired - the kind you get from having too much fun with people who love you!

Our Albuquerue Vacation by Denny Lynn

Daddy had a special work thing in Albuquerque and we got to go! It was a nice dress up dinner. I even won a door prize. I picked a book about horses. I met lots of nice people and ate yummy food.
The really cool part was that we stayed overnight in a hotel and then went to the Aquarium and the Zoo! I was sooo excited! We saw all kinds of fish. I especially liked the sharks.
I even got to pet a Manta Ray. It came right up out of the water for me to touch it. At first I jumped away, put once I finally felt him, I kept going back to do it again!
There is a train that takes you from the Aquarium to the Zoo. I was thrilled. I wanted to ride in the caboose, but it was full, so we got in the animal car. We had it all to ourselves. The train even went through a dark tunnel. Daddy was scared, but I held his hand and told him it was ok.
Once we got to the zoo there was so much to see! I really liked the giraffes - I even told Grandma that I climbed up their necks and picked an apple out of the tree - that is not quite true, but I think she believed me. I also liked the zebras. I spent the whole weekend telling everyone that if it doesn't have a tail it is not a monkey it is an ape - I learned that on Veggie Tales. We rode the zoo train, too and looked at all the fun behind the scenes stuff.
When it was time to head back I finally got to ride in the caboose and have a little snack. I fell asleep as soon as we finished lunch. What a great trip with my family!

Proud to Have Teeth by John Lee

It took awhile, but the teeth are finally coming in. I am going to take good care of them! I love to brush them. If I sneak away from Mama she always knows she can find me at the sink looking for my Elmo toothbrush.

Workin' It At Grandma & Grandpa's by Denny Lynn

So we got to stay at Grandma adn Grandpa's while Daddy and Mama where gone for work. We got to work, too! I don't know much about child labor laws, but I know me and John are the best hands you will find! First we put in time as saddle testers for the saddle Grandpa built.
I was in charge of making cookies - oatmeal raisin to be exact.
John and I provided quality control for the magnets. I check the clips and John tastes them all.
As a good chef, I made breakfast. This day was farm animal pancakes.
John has progressed to head dishwasher, since now I am a cook.
More quality control and organization is applied by John Lee in inspecting the cabinets. Here he is following up with Grandma on what needs to be done.
If all else fails, we know we can shovel gravel.
We did finally get to rest on Sunday when we got dressed up and went to church. I am thankful that Grandma & Grandpa gave us the chance to try out all these career options!

Happy Birthday, Mama by Denny Lynn

January is crazy! Mama and Daddy both had to go on trips for work the first week, so me and John headed off to Grandma's. We did get to celebrate Mama's birthday before she left. We had ice cream cake and I helped put on the candles and blow them out.
Uncle Shawn got to come, too ane he let me use the lights in his truck. It isn't quite a fire truck, but still pretty cool!
We missed Daddy, but we had a good time. I think Mama liked having a birthday party.
