We won a raffle with Southwest Quarter Horse for 1/2 a beef. We never win and we love beef, so this was great! We just needed to pick up the meat in Albuquerque, so we had a roadtrip. We met up with Ms. TJ and got all the meat loaded up. Then the adventure could begin! We took a side trip to Sportsman's Wharehouse and saw lots of cool animals. We really liked the turkeys - especially since Denny kept calling them albue-turkeys!
For saving our money we got binoculars from the bank. We stopped off to try them out on the way home!
We could see really far.
We stopped at El Camino Real to check out the view and tour the museum. This is the histoical trail that brought the first Spanish settlers into New Mexico.
They have lots of fun exhibits - including these sheep that Denny and I "baa-ed" at.
We learned about Conquistadors and influence they had on our New Mexico culture, including agriculture, food and architecture.
We looked at the big map and saw where we live. If you push the buttons, you can hear about each locations.
They even had stuff about trains coming into the area.
You can walk out onto the lookout bridge and see the trail - you can see for miles!
They even have ann outdoor theater and an adobe oven.
We played the game to go along the trail before we headed out.
It was a really neat place to stop and we saw lots of cool things. Still and all, by far our favorite parts were getting to push the button in the elevator....
...and getting new maps!
