A Note From Mom
Ok, so we have been a little behind it posting this month. When you see all we have been up to I am sure you will understand! Be sure you click on older posts a couple of times to get fully up to date! Thanks for keeping up with the Turner Bunch!
Happy Birthday, Jacob by John Lee
So birthday cake rocks! At least going down. Uncle Rex let me have all the chocolate cake I wanted at Jacob’s birthday party. It was yummy – of course that night I had diarrhea and ended up with a mean case of diaper rash.
Not sure if it was worth it or not – guess I will have to try more cake to see. I hope Jacob had a great birthday. It sure was a fun party!

Happy Birthday, Jacob by Denny Lynn
We got to go to Jacob’s birthday party at Peter Piper Pizza. It was so cool! There were all kinds of games to play I threw balls and played air hockey with Kyle and Kristian.
Kyle even took me up into the big tube, but I decided I didn’t want to go down the slide.
We had cake and ice cream. It was really fun to see Kristian and Kyle and play with the cousins!

Big Boy John – 7 Months Old! by John Lee
I am 7 months old and in a hurry to be older! I am pulling up and climbing on everything. I still crawl with one foot up and I am working on walking already! I can finally play in the ball pit with Denny.
When Grandma was here I even pushed a diaper box all the way across the dining room!
It is great to be growing up – especially since no one can keep up with me! I sit up by myself and get to take a bath in the big boy bath tub with my friend Pooh.
My next project to grow big and strong is to eat as much dog food as possible – I find I like it best when I dump out the dog’s water and sit in the puddle.

Goodbye, Granny Nellie by Denny Lynn and John Lee
After State 4-H Conference, we found out Granny Nellie had passed away. This was sad news, because Granny was such a wonderful lady and a big part of Daddy’s life. We feel very blessed that we got to know her. It was a quick trip with not much time for playing – just enough to say goodbye. We will miss you, Granny!
Happy 4th of July by John Lee
I got to spend my 1st Fourth of July in Oklahoma! I got all dressed up in my firecracker outfit and I was ready for excitement. The most excitement came from finding the Wal Mart Bags by the table – don’t worry, Mama informed me that plastic bags are not toys – but it was fun just the same.
The family came to Jeff’s house to have sandwiches with us and do some fireworks. I hung out with everyone while Denny did some fireworks with Daddy and Uncle Jeff.
I didn’t even mind the banging too much. It was great to get to spend time with family and celebrate our country.

Happy Birthday, Jasper by Denny Lynn
I got to be in Oklahoma on Jasper’s birthday! It was very exciting. We were going to go to the park, but it was rainy, so Jasper came to Uncle Jeff’s to play. We had sooo much fun. Jasper brought Thomas cupcakes to share and we had candles for him to blow out.
I got him a train puzzle like mine so we practiced putting it together. Then we played tractors!
We played Hide and Seek, too - it was great for Daddy as the "seeker" because we giggled so much we were always easy to find. I am so glad I got to celebrate with Jasper!

Oklahoma Sights by John Lee
We were actually in Oklahoma long enough this trip to do some extra things. We went to Fort Gibson and explored the old fort.
I even got my turn in the stocks.
I liked touring the Fort and getting to ride around in my stroller. I really like the exhibits where I could see myself in the glass!
Next we went to the Murrell House former home of George Murrell was married to Minerva Ross Murrell, the niece of Cherokee leader John Ross. It was built in 1845.
My favorite part was the weaving room where the big loom was – there was lots of space and an air conditioner in there, so Mama let me explore a little on my own.
Then stopped at the Cherokee Heritage Center to explore their frontier town.
We had a fun day at the Tulsa Zoo. We saw all kinds of animals and I posed as a monkey just like my Bubba!
Here I am riding the train.
We also made a stop at the American Indian Cultural Center in Muskogee – no photos allowed inside, but here we are by the front sign.
Next time I am going to walk through everything on my own!

Oklahoma Sights by Denny Lynn
We were actually in Oklahoma long enough this trip to do some extra things. We went to Fort Gibson and explored the old fort.
They even have a stockade. We took turns being “locked” in. Even though Mama was a criminal I gave her sugars.
I liked touring the Fort, we learned a lot.
I was afraid of the soldier on the horse (note I am not in this picture), but I liked the big “pow-pow” and even got a toy canon to remember it by.
Next we went to the Murrell House former home of George Murrell was married to Minerva Ross Murrell, the niece of Cherokee leader John Ross.
It was built in 1845. I really liked the pond and the neat grounds with lots of room to play.
We also stopped at the Cherokee Heritage Center to explore their frontier town. It looked like a real town with buildings just my size.
We had a fun day at the Tulsa Zoo. We saw all kinds of animals – I was most excited about riding the zoo train.
I drank water from the lion’s mouth and posed as a monkey!
I took a ride on the carousel and I had picked out a deer to ride on – I was really excited until we started to go.
Next we made a stop at the American Indian Cultural Center in Muskogee – no photos allowed inside, but here’s me and Daddy on the porch with the big bell.
It was a busy few days with lots of cool stuff to see – I am already thinking about what I want to see next time!

A New Tag for Teddy by Denny Lynn
I love my Teddy as most of you know. He came with a tag that I used to pet, but I accidently pulled it out one day. While we were in Oklahoma, Daddy cut a tag out of some of my shorts because it was itching me. Mama sewed that tag onto Teddy!
Yea – Teddy has a new tag just like I wanted! Thank you, Mama for doing surgery to fix Teddy up!

Do not be alarmed by the bandaid on my face - it is purely decorative!
Papa’s Tractor by Denny Lynn
Papa has a blue tractor! I was so excited to get to see it and then he even let me drive it! This was my first “Blue” tractor ride and I will never forget it!
