Corn Maze Field Trip by Denny Lynn

Corn Maze day is the best day! I love a good field trip and the Corn Maze is the best! My entire class dyed shirts for the trip.

Our school is so close to the maze we don't even have to take the bus. We just walk over.

We start off with a hayride out to the pumpkin patch where everyone gets to choose a pumpkin.

I had a hard time choosing, but I finally settled on one.

Everyone's pumpkin was different!

Then it was on to the classroom for some Ag education!

We took time to get lost in the maze. We took turns picking the way to go and finally found our way out!

I was glad to find Holly and spend some time with her on the big slide. We got to see lots of friends at the maze.

We tried out the giant hamster wheels...

...and made energy by pumping water.

We acted silly and had a great time all together.

We made a few laps around the trike track.

Lunch was a family affair! This year Daddy and John came along!

Since Daddy was there, we got to sneak off and get our faces painted.

With a few more trips down the slide the fun was complete!

We were hot and tired, but very happy after such a fun day!

Pink Week by Denny Lynn

Every year we have Pink Week to celebrate cancer survivors and raise money to find a cure so more people can survive. We do something fun everyday, including decorating the school, writing letters and collecting coins. We even had pink sock day!

John had to be in on it, too!

I borrowed Mama's pink hat for pink accessory day.

Finally, it was all pink day. Lucky for me the shirt I tye dyed for my field trip had plenty of pink - and I kept Mama's hat!

Pink Week is an important time to learn about helping others.

Decorating for Halloween by John Lee

Last year we planned to make ghosts for Halloween (after we saw Ms. Denise's), but it didn't happen. This year we got to it! I was in charge of supplies (two white sheets).

We used our light up Christmas trees for the base.

Once the trees were up we added a Styrofoam ball for the head.

Next the sheet.

Of course, a ghost needs a face! We cut out shapes from black paper for eyes and mouths.

They came out super creepy (or cute, whatever).

I love to see them all lit up at night! We even fooled Daddy - he thought we had trick or treaters early!

Finally Fair Time by John Lee

I don't really like giving my projects to the fair - they are mine! Mama convinced me that they needed to go. I liked seeing them all on display with ribbons.

I really liked getting them back. I double checked to  make sure everything was there.

I don't know exactly how many ribbons I got - but I do know I had one giant ribbon that came with a check! Maybe the fair isn't so bad after all.

Finally Fair Time by Denny Lynn

It is always so exciting to take everything we made to the fair! I love to see it on display and see what ribbons we won. I had lots of stuff in the Veterans Building.

This year I got special Cloverbud ribbons for the first time! My 4-H projects were on display in the 4-H building.

When it was all said and done, I was glad to get my stuff back! I had 14 blue ribbons, 7 red ribbons, 1 white and 1 yellow, plus the three green ones for Cloverbuds. I also got several free pizzas at Peter Pipers and a free meal at Chic-fil-a and two 2nd Best of Lot Rosettes.

I like the ribbons, but I love the family time making projects and all the skills I learn!
