Oklahoma Vacation by John Lee

We finally made it to Oklahoma to see everyone! We got to ride the carousal at the mall in Tulsa - it is a big one!

I got a yellow horse, but then I wanted to ride in the wagon instead.

Once we started going, it wasn't so bad.

We had a visit with Granny Sharon at her house and showed her all the things we had been up to this year.

Of course, we had Braums - a lot of Braums.

And more comfy hotels.

And, of course, our favorite...SWIMMING!

We stopped off for BBQ at JL's and took a spin in the Batmobile and on the horse.

We even found a new fun pool to try out on the way home.

We love to travel and of course, Oklahoma is one of our favorite places to go. Look for more posts about all the family we got to see!

Clovis Railroad Museum by Denny Lynn

There is not better combination that little boys and trains! We love 'em! We checked out the Railroad Museum in Clovis. They had lots of historical stuff from the railroad and neat model trains.

It was exciting to push the buttons and see the trains go!

We got to see how offices and depots would have been set up long ago.

The museum was right by the train yard so we even got to see real trains!

There was room after room of train stuff to see and we loved checking it all out.

I hope we can go back the next time we go through Clovis and do it all again!

Black Water Draw by John Lee

We found a cool place to visit with Mama! Between Clovis and Portales is the Blackwater Draw Museum. It is all about cavemen and Woolly Mammoths found in New Mexico. They had lots of neat bones and even pieces of tusk.

You can see how big they would have been!

We enjoyed learning all about them at the museum.

Here I am showing you have to be a dinosaur.

From the museum, we went to the actual site where they found the Mammoths. They are also finding bison remains there. You can hike out to the site where they are excavating the bones. We checked out the stuff in the office first.

Then we hit the trail - little did we know, it is a full mile all the way around...but we made it!

Everything is in levels where they are digging.

It was kind of neat, but we couldn't identify very many of the bones, but we had fun trying with Mama!

The last part of the mile got kind of long for little legs, so I got a little help.

We took time to enjoy a shady spot. Next time we are going to take Daddy along and tell him all about the people and animals that lived here.

Time together is precious and I am so glad we get to do things as a family!

Vacation 2014 Off and Running by John Lee

Loaded up and moving out! Daddy had to stop off in Eastern New Mexico to help with a Horse Show, so we decided to start off our summer vacation on the Eastside! We got Snackees and Ninja Turtle seat belt friends for the trip.

Since we are seasoned travelers, we know the best places to stay and all the tricks for making a hotel super fun!

Since we needed the trailer to haul hay, we had to hitch and un-hitch it at the hotel. We got really good at it!

We had a beach vacation - aka playing in the dirt at the horse show. We built castles and dug holes...we even drove trucks and dug for dinosaur bones.

It was a great way to pass the time while we waited for Daddy to work. We also enjoyed watching the horses and hanging out with the 4-H kids.

Thank goodness for Wal Mart and 97 cent buckets!
