4-H Teach and Tell by Denny Lynn

I love 4-H! We go to our meeting each month. For our February meeting I got to hold the flags.

It was also my turn for Teach and Tell. I shared how to read horse papers and talked about my new horse, Dunny.

I showed pictures of his family...

...and where he was born, his birthdate and his ownership. I did great for my first demonstration - I even answered questions.

Holly went after me and she showed us how to make macaroni and cheese. I didn't get to eat any, so Mama had to make me my own when we got home.

It was pretty fun getting to teach - I even took the papers for show and tell at school this week. I can't wait to see what everyone else teaches!

100 Days of School by Denny Lynn

It doesn't seem possible, but I have been in school 100 days! We had lots of fun ways to celebrate! I knew we had to take 100 like items - I wanted to take trains. I had enough. I put them in rows of ten and counted them out.

100 trains take up a lot of space and they are heavy!

Sure enough, when we got the final instructions, it had to be something that fit in a gallon size bag and that everyone could handle and count. I picked Popsicle sticks and again started making stacks of 10.

This quickly became a family project and everyone helped! John is going to keep the extra sticks to make Popsicles.

A perfect fit!

For the party, we were suppose to dress like a 100 year old person. Mama helped with my makeup.

Then we sprayed my hair to make it gray. Mama wanted to shave it to be a bald man, but I said "NO WAY!"

It all came together great! I had suspenders and a bow tie already, put we found cheap glasses and had Daddy pop the lenses out.

I looked too young when I smiled, so I practiced not looking so happy!

Mama came to school for the parade. We were so excited!

 We made hats and necklaces with 100 fruit loops on them.

We had to hold tight to our hats so they wouldn't blow away - I used mine to block the dirt from hitting me in the face.

Everyone came out to see the parade of 100 year old people. I saw lots of my older friends.

 We couldn't wait to eat our necklaces! I ate the blue ones first.

Here I am with my buddy Addie - we sure had a fun day! I can count to 100 several different ways, but in years, we are the cutest 100 year olds ever!

Mom's Day by John Lee

My school has Mom's Day each January. I was so excited for my night with Mama. We went to dinner just us (no Denny or Daddy). I picked Texas Roadhouse because they have the yummiest bread in the world and I like bread. I also like peanuts.

We colored and ate bread and peanuts waiting for my hotdog with applesauce.

It was all deee-licious. And a very special meal because me and Mama were together.

When we got to school, I gave Mama the tour and showed here everything...this is my sand number book.

Here are the turtles, Ricky and Lucy.

These are the new fish - sometimes I get to feed the fish with the food from the box. I especially like the ones with yellow tales.

Then I showed her how to do my favorite works. This is the hammer work - you match the pegs to the holes and pound them in. DO NOT put a yellow peg into a red hole (Mama tried). It is just not right.

Here is the world I made - for day and night. That little pink person is me and there is a bright yellow sun.

I also like sorting things and putting them into the containers.

I showed Mama all the cool books we have - this one is about Monster feelings.

Here is my silly face, like the silly monster!

Ms. Patsy helped me show Mama how we make our sand letters and numbers.

I made the number two.

For our last activity I made a pumpkin - I really like art time and writing now, even though I didn't before. Mama drew the pumpkin and I made the seeds.

I am really growing up and learning lots of stuff. I am so glad I could share it all with Mama!

We love Ms. Tammy! She has been taking our pictures since we were babies. Me first and then John.

We are bigger now and she still has to drag us around to get a picture. We appreciate the fact that she has lots of patience. 

I don't have as much patience when it comes to photos with my little brother.

That is ok, because he doesn't have much patience for pictures. Mama had to bribe him with donuts. Ultimately, this worked in my favor since I got a donut, too.

It is a good thing Ms. Tammy is so talented and can do a lot with a little - because we worked her really hard!

Good thing we are kind of cute...

...if a little ornery.

I can't wait to see how my big boy 6 year old pictures come out. Thank you, Ms. Tammy for helping capture our memories!
